Bit of a real time update
welded up an aerial hole on the roof, nice little trick is to use a washer held in place by a magnet





then i masked up the whole car, scored it with a blade

and poured the first layer of paint stripper all over it working across the panels with a brush





and to show how fast it works (in places, this is an old repair)

i have bought two 5 l cans at about £20 each trade, i will probably only use one though
i used it on the bonnet and sunroof too

My weapon of choice


All done, i have cleaned it all off with a waterbased degreaser (nuetralises the acid) and will let the flakey bits dry over night then blow them off tomorrow.
Hopefully ill get time to sand it all down with 80 Grit tomorrow and get some primer on it tuesday.

Left rear wing at the front. That's the only bit of filler on it
Got a few DA marks on some bits of metal but it's all solid and original so very pleased

ahh i was gonna ask what you would do to neutralise the acid from stripper.

Does the waterbased degreaser do the job well then i take it?

Yep it's spot on. You can use water on a cloth but the degreaser evaporates quicker

What stripper you using. I am doing my brothers. Got sone Trade stuff, it's cheap but pretty crap. It taked the top layer off but the primer it's having non of.ay just take a 80 to it on a DA.

Graham, some do and some dont, if you leave them over night they usually do but then you risk it drying out and sticking back to the panel
