Thanks he bought a kit too as we got it cheaper for buying two so there will be two cameras covering that driveway eventually lol

Cheapo Sannce chinese system.

Works well enough and all the wiring is there now if I wish to upgrade it in the future

should have terminated them into a patch panel in the comms room, and the other side should be terminated into wall boxes hidden somewhere near the camera imo.

camera quality looks great

The idea is to have a splitter on the pc and have the monitor attached to the dvr box aswell, which wouldnt have worked in the cupboard where the network stuff is

I've just bought the same one. I have an old system I never setup as it had huge connectors so I needed to drill a 20mm hole in the walls

These have connectors to. But I just cut them off and soldered the cat5 to the camera wire then heatshrinked.

I can post the wire colour order key if you want because they don't match

No there's about 6 inch of wire out the faceplate before the connector

Bought some ex display lights from Next home cheap, so had a switch around, put one of the new ones in the landing - its bigger than the old one





Then the old hallway one went downstairs in the entrance area





And the other new one went in the study
