No cage unless it's an OMP one so it'll actually do something!

Thanks dude. Yeah your right the boot has cracked slightly
Wasnt going to post this update until tommorrow but sod it lol. The boot cracked pretty a couple of days after I'd had it painted. Was gutted and tbh kicking myself for doing it on the cheap. Should have listened to you guys lol. Those of you who know me know how much of a perfectionist I am, it was really starting to annoy me everytime I saw it so decided to do something about it
Got hunting for a new boot. Within 10 minutes I spotted a mint GSI boot on ebay and snapped it up. Went down to wales the next day to collect it. To say it was mint was an understatement! Perfect base for a semi-smooth boot.
Day after I collected it I went down to Spice paints who do all the bodywork to get it semi-smoothed. Paid a bit more than I was hoping to pay but now I've got it back im glad I paid that little bit extra as it just perfect. Its been fully welded this time Only got it back on friday though so didnt have time to fit it for pvs was gutted
swill_omnibus. Yeah mate I do use the clay bar on the car. Only every 3 or so months though to keep the paintwork mint.
Cant wait to get the new boot on now!!

lol dont worry mate I was going to make a post about it anyway I've learnt my lesson now though. Leave the bodywork to the pros
Ollie, me and my dad will be doing the conversion ourselves. Going to quite new to me, my dad will be be teaching me as we go.

Loved your car at PVS.
If it was my car it'd get a GSi bumper with white Morette's and carbon bits like a carbon bonnet. Strip the fucker out with a white or black cage, buckets and so on. It'd look so cool.

Thanks for the comments lads
Picked the engine up last weekend Really pleased with it and cant wait to start working on it! Hopefully I'll have it on the engine stand by next weekend so I can start cleaning all the crap off it from over the years.
Heres a better picture of it
Also got my new semi-smooth boot fitted this weekend a HUGE thanks goes to Luke (cayenne15) who helped me swap it over. Couldnt of done it without you mate, owe you big time!
After a bit of head scratching we got the old one off easily enough and then stripped it of all the bits needed like the lock, popper, wiring etc.
Then we set about getting the new one on...which wouldnt fit In the end we had to grind down both the hinges a fair amount to get it to slot on. After about 5 attempts we got it Fitted the lock, struts and wiring loom then called it a night.
Heres how it looked this morning
For some wierd reason the boot doesnt sit 100% straight Going to take the headlining out at some point next week and try to adjust the hinges slightly to get it sitting better. only needs to move over a 4mm max
Finally I stuck the plate back on and tigersealed the spoiler back on Just waiting for it to set now
Waxoiled the inside of the boot around the weld area to keep it as mint as possible. Just got to wire my popper back in, sort the line of the boot out, oh and get the "corsa B GSI" scribble off the window
