Hell yeah , although its a lot of extra weight to be hauling around, I might sell it on and get a smaller one, or else just upgrade the speakers. We'll see, I'm not worrying about that just yet
Parts arrived from Autovaux already Speedy speedy.
8v baffle with bonded gasket
Exhaust manifold gasket
And expanding rivets so I can refit my inner arches
Done a quick mock fitting of the GSi bumper too, I'm still undecided on it tbh as I think it looked great with the black bumpers.

GSI bumper will only suit if side strips are removed and arches are colour coded, leave the standard bumpers imo.

I was going to do the tops and arches anthracite along with the wheels. I've yet to fully consider the options though.

Had a day free today and I was bored, then I remembered I had a can of Star silver paint in the shed Started thinking what I could paint
And I ended up taking off my boot lock
Sanded all the dimples out and sprayed it with plastic primer.
Then gave it a flat and applied the colour, few coats later and we have a silver boot handle, just letting that go off then I'll give it a flat and then lacquer it. Unsure what to do with the Griffin just yet, either leave it chrome or paint it black. Probably the latter
Rest of the engine related work should be done this weekend. Well, thats the plan anyway

Gsi bumper with tops painted grey then all the arches and top of rear the same and Gsi skirts the same grey. It would look amazing!

I agree Jamie!
Will be different and very OEM+. Good work with the boot lock.
Eventually i'm having the arches and bumper tops glossed black and a GSi bumper.

Yea thats what I was thinking, just depends how strong the mounting points are when I repair them.
Test fitted the boot lock, needs a flat and a good polish but apart from that its done turned out better than I expected, just got a small bit of orange peel which should polish out. Fingers crossed
Will fit it properly tomorrow, if I can work out how to open the boot

Finished the boot lcok off today, flatted it back with some 1200, then 2500 and then polished it up with the buffer. Came up a treat, I managed to get a small mark at the bottom though Meh, its hardly noticeable.
Used a can of fly spray to show the reflection

Cheers mate!
Little update - not much of and update but progress is progress.
Hadn't done anything to the car in a while, sort of got fed up, couldn't be arsed doing anything with it. Anyway decided today I'd get a bit done, since the weather was nice for a change.
Bolted the rocker cover on with the new gasket to start with, something that should have been done a long time ago Got the oil breather hose on too, just need to get some jubilees for it.
Next up was to sort the bloody sump out. Was dreading doing this as I hate doing things twice , got on with it anyway.
Of it came, smothered in sealer
Then I cleaned it up, again.
Cleaned the bottom of the block too as it was covered in sealer too lol. Ready to fit tomorrow, just need to try and get all the sealer out of the bolt holes some how!
Do I need to use sealer again with the bonded gasket? I've heard people say they've got away without using sealer?

Good work mate, not read anything in here for a while, good progress!
Keep the black bumpers imo - love the subtle sleeper look of it like that!
I used the 2.0 8V gasket on mine and it still leaked

@ Rich H - Cheers mate, you were probably actually shocked that I've only got this far and you just didn't want to rock my boat
Its a toughy on the bumpers, it looks great both ways IMO, both have there plus points and bad points. I've yet to make my mind up on that still
Really , I've heard some people have had success with them where its been dry as a bone, and then theres the ones whos leak. Seems to be a bit hit and miss. Hopefully mines is the former
@ Dan - I have a car that does every thing I need tbh, so I'm in no rush for the Corsa, so sometimes I get bored and think theres no hurry I have transport to get me around. The fact it has an XE doesn't make me want to get it finished any quicker.
@ cjohnson - That looks great pal I remember do a few chops of that for you a while and I loved it then! Cheers for the pics, such a hard decision!
What you driving now mate? Get another B if you miss it that much
