My £10.50 alternator!
Got this stupidly priced at £180 for that I got 6 metres of hose, and 6 connections supplied fitted and delivered. Fuel system owes me around £800 now. Really wish is never started it
Just layed on while tested oil breather fit
During all this cable chopping we had a
Thick brown.. Google and looking at my other corsa,
Confirms starter bolt should have an earth cable on it, running to An earth, simple.
However brown cable same thickness that was previously more than likely used for starter earth (same shape too )
The eyelet doesn't fit over the bolt :S
Tried earthing the block to another earth point but made no difference, confused now, and halfords didn't sell eyelets big enough..
Checked engine is coolant tight (not under pressure obviously) and it was so that's good

Whats the starter electrical issues? You should have a earth from the block, normally the starter stud going to the battery, the starter earths through itself onto the block face.

Not sure mate it's probably going to end my chances going to pvs as its "one of those" we ran a test earth from inlet to the chassis earth but made no difference I'm useless with electrics

Mixture of not having an earh between chassis and engine.
Also started had an old eyelet on. And my eyelet on top of that one, meaning my eyelet was on the clean metal it was on the grubby stuff!!
Another job done!! Just need to attach that last fuel line

Good progress today.
Fitted earth strap to chassis after getting new cable made up.
Got alternator in and mounted - if you own a let you'll know it means driveshaft out and oil feed pipe out, right ball ache going in from underneath.
Last fuel pipe fitted and clamped up at long last
Pumped fuel
All around engine with my fuel control switch, had 4 leaks lmao. One big one caused by a fooked washer, rest just tightening up.
Didn't try and start as battery was flat turns over very healthily now!

Lol Ben, read your last 3 comments, be patient haha.
Battery will be charged for
A full 24 hours. Ill stick a rocker gasket on my old cam cover so oil can be pumped around with shooting out. Then probably Friday, can try.

Had major step back today.
Huge oil leak looks like box/ engine is going to have to come out, as its from crank end seal. Not happy.

You can get gearbox off without dropping it off one of the mounts? Jusg thought engine couldnt go out and down without fouling on chassis.
That's better news I suppose.
Hopefully Steve can sort it tomorrow. Really have had enough

Borrow one of them engine supports that sit on both wings then just take the rear mount and gearbox one of you shouldn't even have to take rad and that out if you can get Into all the gearbox bolts , its not a massive job
