Fist one screen flickered A LOT and was un-useable, so it went straight back.
Second had very poor sound quality during calls. Tried various resets, covers etc and it was still terrible,
Third handset, sound quality during calls is terrible, Randomly switches off in the middle of a task. One day the battery will last all day with still 35% remaining, Other days I dont make it to lunch time. Also unregisters itself from the network.
I've given up complaining.

What network you with? Have they just replaced it each time not sent it off to be repaired?

You'd expect it to be better than a 2.5 year old phone tbf.

Iv only had 1 problem with my S3 which was the rear cover, which had a spiderweb effect on it like the glaze had cracked. Samsung sent a replacement out quick enough. The new side by side apps is actually useful and not gimmicky. You can run 2 apps and watch a hd film at the same time with zero lag (not useful but its there if you want it). My mate was spot on though when he said if it was on his iPhone it would be a new feature for the 5S only.

Looking forward to the update, will be handy having whatsapp and my twitter feed up at the same time. My guess is half the apps wont support it yet though.
Free unlock:
Just dial the following keys *#197328640#
Main Menu > [1] UMTS > [1] Debug Screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] Network Lock > Options [3]Perso SHA256 OFF > (after choosing this option, wait about 30 seconds, then go back one step by pressing the Menu button then select Back, now you are in [6] Network Lock then choose [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ ..... wait for a minute then reboot your phone... enjoy

At the minute its gallery, facebook, internet, gmail/email, charon/talk, messaging, maps, twitter, video and youtube. No doubt more will be added though. Didn't need the unlock but that could come in handy and good when it comes to sell it

I read its a very easy update for devs to make their apps compatible so hopefully they'll do it.
No worries, its not specifically for the S3 but lots of people reporting it works on UK models.

Nearly three weeks and still no phone
Orange complaint email address is down
Asked to be put through to complaints on the phone 'we don't have a complaints department' Even then they couldn't help as they're 'nothing to do with the retail stores'.
Tried to call the repair centre, on hold for 12 mins every time then put through to an answer machine
Kicked off in the store, about as much use as a chocolate tea pot.
Emailed the CEO - unsurprisingly no response
I'm all out of options

That's a joke Ash, no reason for them to have it for that long. Been a cock up somewhere, I'm not sure who you can shout at now though.

The funny thing is I can see them stringing it out for another week or so then saying, sorry we can't fix it here's a replacement phone, when they could have just done that to start with.

Got my note 2 yesterday and thought would put a little update on here.
I have had every iPhone since launch and am just bored by them, sure the 5s will just be marginally different and offer a few more features that andoid have had for ages..
I like John was massively disappointed by the iPhone 5 but still bought one on launch.. yes its a beautiful well crafted phone and is smooth etc but isn't a patch on the features of the note, screen is immense, vivid colours. face recognition lock. etc etc keep finding great new features. I thought I would miss the appstore but pretty much every app seems to be on android and most seem cheaper or free rather than ios. Was gonna keep the iPhone and note couple of weeks and see which preferred but can safely say after 2 hours I knew which I was selling. Even little things like been able to google a ringtone and install it rather than pissing about syncing it or paying. Going to miss facetime and imessage but oh well!
Is a massive phone but love it and the features and settings are just immense.
IMO apple better be very careful as they cant just keep bringing phones out, that offer little more than the last and think people will buy them for ever.

I think it's just got to the point where phones are powerful enough to run android as smoothly as iPhones run iOS coupled with iOS beginning to beginning to become a bit stale.
99% of the features on android are pointless, face unlock being one of them. Out of the 50 odd new features in the new S3 premium suite I think only two caught my eye as being useful, the split screen and low light camera mode.

Should get a Nexus 4 Ash, it's even smoother than the S3, build quality is not quite Apple but not far off, it feels better in hand than a 5, Android is far superior.
If Google can continue to push hardware of that quality at the amazingly low price point, Apple will have a serious problem on their hands.
I've also actually been using face unlock on the Nexus

I will get one I think but I'd be hard pushed to drop the S3. I think the couple of things putting me off are the thickness (still amazed everytime I use the S3) and the slightly smaller less vibrant screen.
Oh and no physical home button, love the feel of the S3 button actually feels better than Apples.
Also won't get the split screen feature

You need a Note 2 or the Premium Suite update if you have an S3...
