The law isn't retrospective, and if the vehicle can come with it fitted then its ok.
Its mainly for newer stuff onwards from when the law was made. Not even sure if A bars are even affected anyway, or if its just the full width stuff.
That's my understanding of it anyway.
Technicalities aside, if you are concerned about harming someone in a pedestrian collision then don't buy a Defender, the 2.7 tonne lump of metal with the chassis protruding out the end isn't a good starting point in that respect.

That's why I don't understand the ban on bullbars. I mean it makes sense but it's not like the ban has removed all risk. There are plenty of vehicles without bullbars that could fuck you up as much as a vehicle with one.
I have on on my Prado, 4x4's look much better with them.
We have loads of shops here selling 4x4 accessories, you would love them. They are liked demon tweeks but for fourbys.

So now officially the whole front end of the car is wrapped, its just these panels left on the whole car unwrapped
First job today was to finish around the windscreen etc
Fitted these new bulkhead to windscreen brackets
Fitted everything back on doors etc and some pics how it stands now
Almost can pretend the whole car is done from this angle

Roof rack and 50inch led lightbar would look great. Bloody expensive but the light you get off them is amazing. Mate of mine fitted one to his troop carrier when we went roo shooting an it was spot on. Could see things just like it was daylight. Coupled with a pair of spotties for long distance and we could see perfectly.

Get those Masai windows fitted and you've halved the amount of wrapping needed as well as it being a cool mod in it's own right

Quick job this evening, stop the leak from the rocker cover! Had a new genuine land rover gasket here for a while now, so finally got round to fitting it.
Covers off, can see where its leaking where the oil is sat on the mating surfaces on the left hand side
Cleaned up the mating surfaces and surrounding areas
Cleaned up this
Sealing nuts done back up to 10nm
Everything back on
Old gasket

Another boring update, more servicing today, oil and filter change and main gearbox oil.
Drained oil, replaced, heres an excellent pic of an oil filter
Then removed gearbox filler plug first
Followed by the drain plug
crappy old gearbox oil
Magnet on the drain plug doing its job
Cleaned that up
Filled it back up, my injection device
I also replaced the diesel spill off pipes as they looks brittle and on the verge of splitting, if they haven't already
Quick pic of the roof
Runs really nicely now, especially the gearbox, one of the claims of this difflock evolution 1 oil was that it transforms the feel of the box, and it actually really does, gear change is far slicker, and I no longer get it sticking in 4 or 2nd when changing down, so id highly recommend this gearbox oil even if it is expensive

Roof looks a bit patchy there.
Was behind a transporter going into work this morning with a very shiny brand new defender on the back. Definitely looks better without the worklights.

I'd tint the lenses on the working lights slightly smoked. It would hide them a little into the black roof

Ah yes. It's worth leaving disconnected when it's not needed as you end up with an air box full of water from driving in the rain
