Nice motor! I never used to be a fan of Golfs but recently VW seem to have actually given them a soul.

But you couldn't have picked a more rank colour if you tried...

Is it some kind of visual impairment as I wouldn't want to mock the afflicted? I only asked because you seem to regularly pick some puke worthy colours

Black is the best colour for them, or white if modified.

Nothing wrong with blue though, just a bit predictable

Nic the tailpipes were similar on my DS3 sooty as hell almost instantly. I used bilberry wheel cleaner on then and just brushed it off. Looked like new after.

when you have cleaned them use some high temp wax - makes the easy to clean - done this on the M135

Pic shows that only 1 pipe each side actually works most of the time - the only thing that lets the R and S3 down is the 4 pipes IMO

I believe they have a valve like the M135i - unplug the connector to have the valves open all the time which is what I believe happens in Race mode

On the M135 is sounds better with the valve disconnected and open all the time

You will also get less pitting on the inner exhausts as all 4 are being used

Lovely car though congrats

Yeah I think you are correct from reading some posts on the net. You can code it out or just unplug it from somewhere under the bonnet. Tbh I like it's quiet mode for regular driving however.

the tailpipes do get manky, normally the inner of the two , if jambos method does not do it then autosol polish is the nuts, had mine looking brand new.

Nice car, its a great colour, its also an optional extra that colour over red, black and white.

As for cleaning exhaust pipes....nothing wrong with keeping a brand new car looking clean.

I've always used the Brasso wadding on ours then buffed off with a clean microfiber.

On some really stubborn stuff you can use very light duty wire wool, but need to be careful.
