Personally i would of left a majority of the rear struts in to make alignment easier when custumising the new one in unless measurements have been made already, i was looking into doing this about a year ago and speaking to other people like phil at JNC he talked me out of it, i was gona go along the route of cutting the front of another corsa and fabbricating it in to the back, and the strengthening the body around it, this way uve got the correct geometry for the engine struts hubs lower arms ect, obviously it wouldnt be as straight forward as that but along those lines.

The front end will never have the right geometery, the suspension design is rather old and you'll end up with a car that bump steers its self into lamp-posts, ditches and pitwalls..
When the chassis was complete the wheel base was within 1mm to standard

Somehow I doubt mike will produce the same standard of fabrication as you two that's what scares me the most, not a job for the in-experienced.

exactly why i havnt done as the customising that it will need after would be horrific

I chose a Corsa C sub frame as the pivot point on the steering rack (to be tie bars) could be made almost parrallel with the arms, minimising bump steering.
Obviously Beardys proper trailing arm design is FAR FAR FAR superior, but I dont have access to a pipe bender or a jig so I needed something square to start with

...Mike if you are serious about this, have a good look at an MGF/MGTF rear subframe, it is a metro front sub frame with some mods.. Rover were actually quite clever with it.
