will have to get one of those ordered

only problem is there are 2 small holes from a number plate being screwed to the bumper in the past, so would need some caps to cover them.

got my whistling window fixed today, thank god! was irritating me so much everytime i went over 40mph.

note to self: don't try and work on cars in winter weather

ordered some of this stuff thanks to flybikeslee. you apply it to the rubber seals and it stops water getting in. i have a slight leak at the rear of the windows so hopefully this fixes that.

also told my dad about my leaky washer bottle yesterday and where it was leaking and he figured out the headlamp washer pump nozzle was broken off, hence why it was blowing the pipe off.

the vertical nozzle in the picture is the bit my bmw one doesn't have, and bought a pattern part for £15, less than half the price of a bmw one.

Received my front bumper fangs today. They are made of 3mm thick aluminium. They have powdercoated just one side blue (wtf) but i'm painting them black so no big deal, just annoying.

Will save me scraping the plastic bumper all the time.

As you can see, when fitted, underneath one side would be blue and the other side silver

Also got my headlamp washer pump through:

One genuine bmw pump with broken nozzle

And the pattern part replacement

Still didn't fix the leaking washer bottle problem.though. I now need to buy some mpre rubber hose.

Yes mate. You can see in the pic where they fit to as well as the damage caused by speedbumps

Next year i'll hopefully be getting the bonnet and bumper resprayed so these will protect it.

Made a start on fixing the headlamp washers today, so I could actually use my windscreen washers during winter.

First off, put some foam down (works rubbish comes in handy) so I don't scrarch the bumper.

Found the culprit. Aside from the previous owner breaking the headlamp washer pump which sits in the washer bottle, he also used some poundland spec piping which blew off everytime you used the washers.

The black rubber piping fitted properly this time. The pipe above had been bodged onto this pipe before.

Never been so happy to see a full washer bottle

Doing this saved me 30 quid as I was going to buy new rubber piping from BMW.

Also, not happy with how my new windscreen has been fitted. The seal around the windscreen looks terrible as you can see here (tops of the a-pillars):

When I phoned up to complain, the bloke from the fitting centre was extremely rude and arrogant so I phoned customer services who were very professional and i'm getting it sorted. Also getting the tinted sunstrip windscreen this time which is a result.

Ffs. Used the headlamp and windscreen washers yesterday whilst I was doing 70mph and they worked perfectly. Tried to use them on the way home from work and nothing came out, so pulled up at home and had a quick look and the washer bottle was empty.

Now I know I didn't use enough fluid to empty the bottle so i'm guessing a hose has came on somewhere.

Yet another day of ripping the bumper off to get access

The good news is that I managed to sort some nuts and bolts from work so can get the bumper plates fitted after I paint them.

Removed the bumper again today to find the leak and all the pipes were on tight, so decided to fill the washer bottle up and run the headlamp washers to find the problem.

I soon noticed the drivers side headlamp washer.was leaking from the bottom, whereas the passenger one was dry.

Though i'd need to buy another but had an idea, so went and got the silicone sealant out and put a load on.

Looks untidy but it can't be seen and will do for now (i hope). It's not a moving part as such. It swivels round if you move it but doesn't move when the headlamp washer functions, so should be fine.

If not, it needs a new headlamp washer.

I desperately need to fix it though, as winter weather and commuting on a dual carriageway means I get a very dirty windscreen very quickly.

Hopefully it does its job, although I only have a couple of leaks from the rear of the windows when washing the car.

Filled the washer bottle up today then cycled the headlamp washers about 5 times. Everything seemed to work fine, so I brimmed the bottle again.

That was 6 hours ago. Just been to check the fluid level and it's still full so hopefully that means my silicone bodge has fixed the leak for now.

Also gave the engine bay a clean up. Cleans up lovely, although is rather boring to look at. May get the engine covers painted/coated silver or grey just to spruce it up a little.

Also might buy a set of HID's as the halogen bulbs, although blue, give off a dull light and look a bit old fashioned.
