or...on the other hand if i flew it somewhere with a lot of RF noise one day and it failed i will be forever thinking "Should I have done that filter"

BTW, i highly recommend those Team black sheep esc's with simonk firmware, the DJI ones are smooth but in windy conditions i was getting oscilliation regardless of gain settings.

These ones give really smooth flight even in wind

I suppose that's where we differ I like to have a nice reliable, as original as possible, tried and tested setup that I can fly again and again and again I'm not a big fan of tinkering.

Ready to fly Phantom is about £450.. That doesn't include any video gear.

Ready to fly F450 is closer to £700 with a reasonable transmitter again no video gear.

They are fun, but they are literally just a toy.. Pretty twitchy too so I've you've not flown anything like that before it will probably do your head in

Blade are releasing a new mini quad soon to compete with the DJI Phantom and it should be cheaper too

I only want to spend a little bit of money tbh, i know whatever i get will be sat on a shelf after the 3rd week

I have a piccoz helicopter, which is pretty crappy, but i was still good at flying it etc.
