If you got the money, and can insure it, then a Clio 172 is a good option, although seeing as you say

then the Clio 182 has just been released and can be had for £15,000 brand new

although insurance will be very steep at 18......

i know not really wanting to pay more than 3000 really for insurance. im not so keen on the 182 i dont like the tail pipe

then the 172 would be my choice although there are plently of other used cars in that category for under 10k.

206 is not as fast as it could be no, around 135bhp if i recall....

Thinking about it a newish Cupra would be my first choice if I had your bugdet (which i dont )
