The joys of modified cars eh Daimo? That's bad news mate, though sounds like it could have been worse (the whole car could have gone up in smoke )

Maybe you should have a custom engine loom made? I'm having one made and fitted in aerospace spec fireproof wiring for T499 at the moment - £400 all in and that includes moving dials around on the dash. Basically doing it for peace of mind

Maybe you should have a custom ass probe made? I'm having one made and fitted in aerospace spec fireproof latex for my ass at the moment - £40 all in and that includes moving knob around on theend. Basically doing it for the AA man

It happened so its just something i have to sort out. Ahh bugger.

The wiring was in no way Lee's fault. Last summer i moved the wiring behined the altenator bracket to make it look tidy. Had no problems all year. However, the new induction hose i put in is bigger so i decided to move the cables out frolm behined the bracket again. Little did i know that right underneath where u can't easily see it had worn through at some point. Where it had moved it obviously bounced up and down and the ignition wire looks to have clipped the altenator bracket and burnt all the cable.

Hoping that the rest of the loom is ok and it hasn't burnt through other wires (all other functions of the car are ok). I can just put in a new (and well covered ) wire in and also one in the engine bay. Then cover the wiring loom around the tight are, and any other tight areas, with thick rubber hoses

Still obviously hoping i can do that when i strip it

Cheers all so far.

pmsl was gunna post but then don't think they can leave the country but thought nah, ill get roasted coz you can or something

You can hire cars on the continent yes, but more than likely can't take them out of the country you hired from.
