Something I have noticed with your Corsa boys is that you never have the engine bay welded up or strengthened?

What about suspension turrets? No addition strengthing needed?

Don't believe these need to be uprated as none of the major companies recommend this it Crossvaux, Regal, etc, etc,

Although I know they do recommend seam welding on the nova

WTF are you talking about my posse?
What posse you peanut?

Damien, the Nova is layed out the same as the Corsa underneath and in the engine bay so in 5 years time when your chassis legs start to rott and your slam panel and suspension turrets start to fall to pieces I shall be the one laughing you cod piece.

Nope, Corsa is stronger than a nova and also doesn't need the bulkhead cut away to fit it.

LET's can go into a corsa without the need for strengthening. Obviously its good for extra strength, and if your building a track car it would eb advisable, but not needed for road use.

I'm going to take my car to Just Novas to have the whole engine bay welded up just for piece of mind, I know I only have the X16XE but in the back of my mind I know that its a lot safer.

Since when has the Corsa been stronger?

Looking at Rachels car yesterday there is no difference between mine and her's. The only difference being that the Corsa has a plastic inner arch going along the top of the engine bay where as my Nova has a metal one (which is starting to rott)

Banned for 28 days longer, and? So? Gave me chance to build the car that I have always wanted to build and also pay off my loan you anus.

Probably the best thing that could have happened at the time.

I shall also be owning a Calibra C20XE soon also, just as soon as a fairly decent one with leather comes avaliable.

although I would keep an eye on your chassis as the legs underneath most pre 97 (can't remember the age of yours?) corsa's are prone to rotting, it's best to get a body shop to pump that special wax into them

Tony, Lee will have the engine in and running with the brakes and a bit of welding done.

I'm not taking it out on the road until the bodywork is finnished so you probably won't see it until Trax at the latest.

Lee is doing mine, but mine is a easier conversion as it just needs bolting in, then the wiring done.

I'm not in any great rush for it.

Damien, the difference being is that the battery tray in the Nova is at the back of the engine bay instead of actually IN the engine bay.

Where your washer bottle is mounted is where my battery and heater are found.

Show me a picture of a bare corsa bay and bare nova bay.

Im 99% sure the chassis arms are thicker and stronger. Suspension turrets etc are thicker and stronger etc.

If it wasn't the case, then as said, why does teh nova need cutting and welding to take a 2.0 and a corsa jsut drops straight in.

In fact, i've not know ANY 2.0 corsas to suffer with strengthening problems.
