I work as a bike tech at JJB. Even tho most of the bikes there are complete crap there is a couple of nice ones

I wouldn't get a full suspension bike for that sort of money, they won't have developed the geometry properly, so it will be an absolute dog to ride, knacker you out completely... Get a decent hard tail, like this - http://www.halfords.com/opd_product_details.asp?id=105&type=0&cat=90

i did see a full suspension bike the other day
and as i can weld i know a little and the welds were a little shit to say the least
i seem to have a steretype of apollo bikes just seems shit to me
dunno if raleigh is a better "name" or not
im going past there tomorow so ill drop in and have a look

corsa_rob , iam sorry but think u hav overpriced ur bike .Good luck to ya if u sell it , just might take while . But i sold my bike , a Curtis with v.good parts for £650 .
Just got my self a nice pace frame / forks and full xc build . As iam stopping jump/dh and getting into xc 
p.s oh and at ur pic vibrio , think ive had more air of a curb

I prefer my floating drive train bike for normal XC trails. does enough to make the ride smooth. riden on FS, hard tail and rigid. hard tail is good but for lightness and flickable rigid is the way to go particularly with such a low budget.

I've snapped a set of Z1's before... It's the internals that go on Rock Shox forks, as they aint built to last. However, Marzocchi forks are a hell of a lot better than Rock Shox, they are built to last forever...

after a ride, was coming home and there was a bank which had just been cut it was quite steep.
Clever me starts riding up it, all the new cut grass on the same side as my back gear changer, clocks it up, i try and pedal it snaps and i fall off.
Gona have to get a new one now

it was not about getting air or a jump we were messing about with picture taking. trying to get shutter speed and aparture right to take some decent pics. plus that was after I had taken my tumble so I was a bit sore lol
Tis hard getting a camera set up right for taking bike pictures . Got a few gens now and again , but tbh i think they where flukes . Although now iam getting back in 2 xc , should make it a bit easyer

I used to race DH allover the country and had a Giant ATX-1 DH - thats a REAL bike 7'' suspension travel at rear, 8'' at front, hydraulic discs etc real tool and fucking great fun

Should take some pics of my Kona... 8" front and rear... Hope 4 pot hydraulic disks, the lot, well fun to ride... The disks on it are bigger than the ones on my Corsa
