Well my mate has had a 2.5 conversion on his Sti6, with a much bigger turbo than the Type25, and until 5th I pulled away, he got it in 5th and he pegged me back, then he hit the limiter, then I changed into 6th and waved bye bye to him LOL
If I was on my own in the car (was 4 up at the time) I think I'd of pulled away even when he got in his 5th gear.
Can't see a Type 25 been as fast as his TBH.

And RE: standing starts, he only pulled about 3 car lengths off the launch, soon as I got grip in 2nd I reeled him straight in.

I went up against the Brocade yellow LET with 6 exhausts in my 106 GTI, and i had him by about half a car length off the mark, and was level up until about half way then he pulled cleanly away.
BUT
My mate in his UK Spec impreza turbo could eat me off the mark, so im seeing a little inconsistency here

No its far from standard....
If were talking a race to 60 then i have no chance. Race to 100, think I'll have him (would be close though), his 5th is immense though so a chance he'd peg me back then, then he limits out about 150, and I sail past!

The inconsistancy comes from the fact a car is more than a machine, its a driver too LOL.

No problems matey! Massive difference between standard and mine, turn the boost down to standard and it feels like I'm not mooving!

i've seen a below standard c20let corsa (due to having one mishaped piston so was getting a bit of engine knock, and nackered turbo) cain a high tuned gti, and i've seen standard ones eat them alive from start to finish, the guy you race may have a lot to learn about driving his LET

I was gonna goto York dragway yesterday, but I didn't get up until 1pm LOL. When is the next RWYB day at the POD? I really want to run at Elvington. 1/4 mile times are not the be all and end all for me. The fact another road car has not yet tonked me is enough (with the exception of the twin engined nova!)
Power wise, a definate 300, an estimate of 325ish. Handles like poo LOL. Coilovers on way though. Just got myself some 300mm 4 pots too
First gear forget it. Second if you gently feed it on your ok. If you just plant your foot down it will light up third with ease! All about balancing things out when trying to get grip.

Tyre sizes, engine power, crappy suspention on mine, all factors that contribute I guess!
Venom you saying you can get power down in first?

Id like to see any corsa LET beat my old GTI off the mark
A. They cant get traction, 106 was instant traction and very very fast in 1st gear
B. Too heavy!
C. Turbo Lag

I know that a 106 Gti is not as fast as a Corsa LET and never would be, but theres not a lot that would take that GTI off the mark that wasnt four wheel drive
