my mate got 8 points and £300 fine recentally for not reporting an accident, he spun on a corner in the wet (rwd sierra) and clipped a wall doing no damage at all to wall but his bumper was damaged and number fell off and someone reported it as he just drove off as it was a blind corner and he didnt want to hang around for someone else coming round the corner. He said he was guilty by letter and mentioned how he needs licence for work and college but this didnt bother them and he had to quit both as there is no way he could get to either as both his parents work and he lives in the middle of knowhere so i know if something happens to me I am never going to say i am guilty by letter.

i'm sure you have to wait 12months before you can retake your test if you get banned.

lee leg ahd to wait 12months. for gettin 6points. and his points wasnt for the same thing.

looks like very bad news mate
but you should complain about then not telling you straigh away your banned, coz like sumone said, you could be driving around, get pulled then get fucked for havin no liscence and you dsidnt evan know.

He is not bannned!!!

FFS some people are dumb . A ban, and having your liscence revoked are two completely different things. A ban means your off the roads for the amount of time stated by the court.

When your liscence is revoked, basically you have to start over from scratch, but you can do it straight away. Once the letter comes through, apply for a new provisional. Once you have this, you can start driving on the road again under supervision, and also apply for your theory, and then your practical test.

Its basically a way of giving you a lot of inconvenience, rather than actually taking you off the road. I personally think its a good idea, as the majority of people wouldnt want to go through it again, and it also discourages others from doing the same.

Right you deffo have lost your license mate, thats really shitty luck too as you only had 2 months to go to pass the 2yrs 6 point limit, you will have to re-sit the test including the theory and hazard, I'm in the same boat as you mate, got done for speeding twice, one was 82 in a 60 and the other was 42 in a 30, believe me i've learned my lesson the hard way.

Oh and like Rob says:

YOUR NOT BANNED UNLESS THE JUDGE STATED THAT YOU ARE

Oh, and if i remeber rightly, becuase you were never banned, you simply need to declaire that you have 6 points when you insure your car, so atleast thats a lot easier on the wallet .

well he is banned in away becuase it will be illigal for him to drive a viachle on the road now. because he has no lisnce. so seems to me like he is banned, but only till he pass's his test, think you'd be better having a few lessons as you've been drivin almost years, lts of bad ahbits and stuff to fail on i recon.
