Maximum penalties mean nothing. I took a Spanish guy to court a while ago who got 17 years for importing over £3million's worth in a lorry.

Did you/are you pleading guilty at the earliest opportunity?
Going guilty will probably lessen your sentence by about a year. Judges give alot of credit for people who go guilty rather than going to trial, wasting lots of time and money, and still getting found guilty by the jury.

If you get 1-4 years you serve half, if you get 4+ years you serve 2/3.
You can apply for tagging etc near the end of your sentence too.

In the 1000's of prisoners ive met, apart from the fact that they're murderers/robbers/drug dealers/gangsters/burglars/attackers etc... they're pretty normal people
Apart from the rapists/sex offenders...

You'd be suprised how many 'normal' people are in the system.
It's a shame to see some people get sent down, normal blokes on a night out with their mates etc, get in a drunken scrap that ends up going a bit far and end up getting sent down for years. Actually i feel soory for the families more.

he is a dealer and is supplying drugs and got caught, fair enough it was only cannabis but thats how it starts, next its harder drugs which actually fuk peoples lifes up
