I cant stand smoking. If people want to smoke then they dont have to do it in places where I can breath it in. As said before when you go to a pub you arent forced to drink alcohol but you are forced to inhale other peoples smoke from their fags and it really pisses me off.

While they are at it they could put the tax up on fags then maybe the smokers can pay for the extra health care that they are gonna need instead of putting up our petrol prices!

Admittedly a non-smokers biast point of view

I really don't see how any smokers have an arguement about their rights, they are causing harm to themselves but more importantly others, yes there are drawbacks to YOURSELF if u drink large amounts of alcohol, but you are not killing other people by drinking it, it's a social drug more then anything and lowers inhabitions, smoking in every way is bad. If your a smoker and want to argue the point about u should be able to do what you want, then go sit in a box and smoke and smoke till u die, i couldnt care less it's the sellfishness of smoking, for instance.. driving in a car, cold outside a smoker wants a fag they open the window for THEIR fag not anyone elses make everyone cold and most of the smoke stays in the car anyway, it's a sellfish habbit. You have no rights to say you should be able to smoke where you like, smoke in your home. And don't anyone say i don't know anything about it all, my grandad died just over a year ago from cancer from smoking, and my uncle is now going through chemo for smoking also. It IS a bad habit and it DOES kill people smoking or passive smoking.

smokings no more dangerous or harmful than half the people off here tearing round in their cars endangering other people's lives rather than just their lungs... at the end of the day people do what they want dont they, just IMO i dont think they will be able to stop every person from smoking in public

England really need to follow suit. Smoking has already been banned in our shopping centre. Little chavs still do it because its illegal, so therefore it must be cool.

Misty I know what your saying, now my point is by all means ban smoking in pubs, that's great and I'm all for it, out in the town and in public I don't mind people smoking, they do what they want as far as I'm concerned, it's just pubs I'm bothered about.
Now your saying you don't go to the opera because you don't like sweaty singers so my arguement is I don't go to a pub to have a drink and socialise, play pool and darts for some yellow toothed, gum diseased chimney to make me inhale smoke. Pub's focus on beer, so why not open Smoking Houses? Smubs

I dont disagree with any of you you all have your fair point, i just dont like being told what i can and cant do. I only smoke very rarely and this is only when i am out drinking (they seem to go together)

I hate it when you walk out of a shopping centre and all the chavs are out side lighting up. you have to walk through a wall of smoke

can't see how people allow somethings, when lots of stuff is harmful.

government say one thing and everyone follows suit.

they said smoking was good back in the day with no risks = people believed

now it bad and should be banned = people agree.

but going to war is ok

people dont just follow wot the government say. Ive never liked smoking even before they mentioned banning it. And just cos the government have sent our country to war doesnt mean that we all think that its ok, we dont have a choice in it!
