My X16XE goes upto about 6350 when I'm pushin it, quite happily too! still pulls strong (dont take it right to the limiter tho, seems to loose power just after 6350rpm)

playing with different sorts of heat-wraps for the induction kit, and the difference is noticeable with & without & also different size/shape...

bah but I want a Mantzel trying to save a budget of 1k for engine mods in coming year... mantzel, unichip & ARP bolts... should be enough I hope!

as would mine..... i need to get it rebuilt... having said that for an engine with 90 odd k on it it does pull sweetly....

Mine has 85K and I'm always pulling till 7500 rpm
I think I want to upgrade the bottom end to 1650 cc with oversize pistons and X16XE crankshaft.
I'm still amazed the car is still with the original pistons,conrods,bolts,etc
But I use a very special racing oil, and change

Why do you want a X16XE crank shaft????, the C16XE and X16XE cranks are the same, way to get 1650 is like ya said change the pistons for 80 omegas, sorry Duh unless ya got a 1.4 if so i will shut up lol

It's a 1.4 dude, only the conrods are the same

Sell that Pug it's a lorrybut I'm also the owner of a Pug lorry 406 1.8 16Velderly car
