so the standard 1.4 8v driveshafts can handle 180bhp, that was a bit of luck on vauxhalls part

If you do get your 140bhp ( ) then you think the same shafts will stay in one piece?

You sir, are an idiot.

Its clearly obvious, even for the most simple minded people, that putting a turbo on that engine is gonna be a pain in the arse.

Whats this big thing about driveshafts aswell why you getting all hung up on them? I got my C20XE engine into my car for about £800, including Lee's £450 labour charge. If you can turbo your 1.4 yourself, you're competant enough to put a 20xe into a corsa yourself, and that can be done in a weekend.

Whats the cost of a 20xe into corsa? Mine was summit like this:

Astra GTE £100
Engine Mounts £80
Hubs £150
Inlet adaptor kit £60
Total Cost £390

Then, say you change your suspension aswell, £300.

£690 aint bad. Just chuck 20xe in and have done with it.

If you really want to turbo, go for it.
You want a inlet and head from a e16SE and a thicker head gasket (see SBD or spessio)
then an adaptor for the manifodl to the turbo. As the cast coutrtney ones are sh*te.down pipe ot meet the system
Intercooler,
T2 turbo, oil feed from pump and return wleded in to sump
Remote oil filter set up and oil cooler I'd imagine
And 5th injector set up to add the extra fuelling.
The bottom end will accept abotu 150BHP before you need to worry abotu pistons etc....
and at 12psi I doubt you'd see 190BHP.
The nova boys have done it lots. but on the 1.6's
you'd want as CR of about 8.5:1-9:1 then get it set up with a WB lambda sensor so make sure it's not leaning off.

If you cna do all that for under £750, good luck to you.

Haha, I think this guy has been playing a few too many video games. Where you bolt on a turbo.

It's not as simple as fitting an induction kit - I guarentee you, fitting a turbo to your 1.4 8v will be harder than getting a 2.0 16v fitted.

But I want you to fit the turbo just so you can see everyone's point. But lets be serious - I bet you that £750 you'll never fit a turbo!!! Grow up. If It was that easy to 'bolt on a turbo' we'd all have done it by now.

To be fair these engines are disposable! have 3 lined up in your garage for when they go pop, then unbolt the turbo and bits then onto the newer one lol
