Pug nut - with respect, you thought a spec of dust on your week old car was rust so you are perhaps not qualified to be giving in-depth reviews of 306 gearboxes.
Having driven around 8 different 206's and god knows how many corsas of all specs i would take the peugeot gearbox anyday. Don't get me wong, its far from perfect but the corsa box's are just plain nasty

Claire G, there are metal bits dome sort stuck to the front bumper, bonet and rear drivers side quarter on the Saxo. I have no idea how they got there and they will not come off. So, quit taking the piss and come and have a look if you won't take my word for it.

However, i have driven 3 205s, 4 306s and 1 106 and all have had the same problem with the gearbox. They have sticky gearboxes which an oil change and gear box clean sorts for around 1,000 miles but then they go shit again. The reverse won't go in and 3rd seems to crunch. But, drop them into 2nd, then 4th and finally 3rd and they are fine. 3rd only haps a small amount of times but reverse is shite.

3 of the 306s where brand new and one of the 205s where new so it's just down to them being shit gearboxes.

The paint and inside the car on Pug is really good quality if you get the right model. However, get the wrong model and you end up with a pile of shite.

Shitrons on the other hand are a waste of money. The paint is rubish and the dash etc is really dull.

The only thing i'm a little against with Pug is there customer servie once you pay for the car. They basically charge you an arm and leg and treat you like dirt. Shitrons custermer service on the other hand id a diffrent story. If i could get a nice car off them that is not a shitron then i will. I'm gonna go and see what they have got tomorrow.

The 205 was the very 1st car i drove and was around 2 years old when i had a ago but had been owned by my Mum who did around 1,500 miles in it when she sold it before it's 1st MOT. However, i was under age and drove it on private land

Also, these other Pugs where not mine either, i just had a few drives in them.
