I wouldnt worry abotu the courts taking the police's side - U'll be attending a Magistrate court - Magistrates are made up of three people - one who is legally trained (ie a barrister or ex Judge or so on) a lawyer of some kind - the other two are essentially members of the public -
I had several police officers and several witnesses against me in my case - I had 1 witness and that wasnt any real bearing on the police case
The main issue was that all of the witnesses Police in particular got tongue tied and crossed what eachother were saying
If u say essentially what youve said on here - the dark lit street - just seeing two reflective yellow tabards, etc - Im sure the court will take leniancy on you -
Just dont come across as cocky in court - answer all questions clearly and cohersively. Most important dress smartly - suit and tie - but not a white shirt - I knwo it sounds daft but White shirts make you look more guilty - u need a blue shirt under a black suit prefferably; U need to represent your character
All of the witnesses turned up at my case dressed like typical chavs - shirts hangin out; no ties; jeans; trianers and it definately had an effect

Use the intended original story Lee, my mates Dad whos a sargeant says that they have no actual right to stop you if they are on foot and nothing is wrong, you are just "advised to stop" he also says that they might try and make up some sort of story as to why they tried to stop you to help their case.

i know what u mean, they were just stop checks at first. but now theyl probably say i was speeding and all that. simple really tho, if theres no proof saying that theyre cops why shud i pull over. it could have been anybody

same thing happened to me pretty much, I was actually quite surprised that some policemen were actually flagging me down and it took me a while to realise what was happening.
I stopped but it was quite harsh (didn't skid or anything) and the woman told me I was going quite fast (bollocks was doing 30) the hard braking made it look like i was going fast.
It turned out it was just a routine stop and I got told to make sure i wear my seatbelt... which i was doing anyway.
Don't blame you for not stopping really especially as there was no car there.
I actually had to take a second look at them to realise they were police.

Being on foot doesn't make a difference, they have the same powers as if they were in a car. If anything its a more serious offence because usually they will arrest you temporarily in case you drive off, bigger penalties for not co-operating and they've more justification to pursue.

I would just say I didn't see them so didn't realise they were police as it was pretty dark and I was concentrating on the road. (No police cars anywhere)
If I did realise they were police I would of pulled over straight away as I wasn't speeding or doing anything wrong so there is no reason why I wouldn't of stopped.

There is also a home office approved way of stopping a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road.
Where by you need to use specified hand signals to the driver of the vehicle to indicate that you require them to come to a stop at the side of the kerb.
also i don’t know why the constables have said they are taking you to court, it is up to the CPU to decide if it is in the interest of the public to take further action regarding the incident,
Have you been served a summons notice >?

You're thinking that one copper in a car can't give you a ticket. But you can hardly generalise it to say that 1 copper can't do Anything

i used to walk the streets on my own when i was in the police and i arrested plenty. so some one has got it mixed up.
you can not search some one on your own you must always have another officer then. thats what it might be getting mixed up with
