Sort of fortunately I do not have claims to loose from insurance cause Im only 18 but I dont have a clue what I will do about insurance now, what Im sayin is hopefully a claim payout will help me get back on my feet as at the moment I am gutted, depressed and broke!
Very true but will have to declare you claimed for the next five years so good luck with insurance
If she is claiming off someone elses insurance it does not effect hers.

yes it does
Go and get an online quote - it states you must list all claims regardless of fault and and on some it means you lose your no claims regardless of fault

so it will affect as a claim is an issue for insurance people
You are classed as a risk and also the cost of admin and dealing with solicitors etc is taken into account, Insurance will go up I can guarentee you that cos i know somebody who went through all this

Look, its probably dependant on each individual so lets agree to disagree, but from my experience, & i know some family & friends that have to...not affected. Maybe some people are lucky? who knows. I just know from my experience.

don't get me wrong I feel sorry for you. Insurance is a pain in the arse - The only people who win are the insurers themselves

i would say cost of repairing is greater than what the car is worth so they will just write it off

Result, just bothered my arse to go and pick up the mail from downstairs. The other blokes insurance has sent me a letter sayin he has admitted resposibility and they will pay for repairs for my car or offer a cash settlement and if they are repairing it they will provide a replacement car despite my age has cheered me up a bit, cause now I can go work and keep my job!!

I dont think it looks to bad tbh. Apart from the wheel it looks like very light panel damage!
The wheel could just be a wishbone less than £50 from vaux.
Nobody can say from that photo if it will be a write off or not!

What are you worrying about?
It was his fault so his insurance company pays for it, if they write the car off you can claim for a set amount of time for a hire car. Any injury claim (genuine only please) will also come from his insurers pocket, all you do is report it to your ins company, you dont lose anything.

No thats wrong, if you were involved in an RTA, and you were not at fault, you will not be discriminated against by insurers.

hazey, sorry to hear about your accident, its a bugger, had a similar accident and happy to say that insurance paid out fully and car was put back on road fairly quickly. Hope the same works out for you. go for the whiplash claim, goddamn merc drivers could do with taking down a notch.

Good news mate!!
You will have to tell your future insurance of any accidents but say to them that you were not at fault and claimed against the other party's insurance. Thats what I did and my insurance isn't affected at all.
You will probably get a report on your car in a few days advising whether they are writing it off or not. If they do reject there offer, say to them that it's worth more due to the pristine condition, mileage, service history, etc. He will then get back to you a few days later with a better offer.
Will prob take about 9 months for the injury claim to go through tho.
