whats the engine code for the Civic VTi?
Is it still the B16a engine?

I had a race with a CRX the other day, guy had a full SS exhaust system, enc. induction kit, V-Tec controller, and had just fitted an exhaust manifold (dunno which). Was claiming 180bhp, which sounded reasonable...

Anyway to cut a long story short, this had to be the closest race I have ever had, we both went from the lights and I was just sat in the fast lane next to it trying to overtake without much luck

both gave up at 90mph ish

was gutted that the 1.6 kept pace, then was reminded that they are 160bhp standard trim, a CRX probably weighs less than a GTE 16v, plus he had spent money on the engine!

Take away the leather and your left with another boring civic. If i wanted a civic to mod i wouldnt buy a jordan, if I had a jordan i wouldnt modify it and I would love one just for the seats!

Engine wise they really arent that fast and you need to thrash the tits off them but they do respond well to tuning. Torque wise show it a hill and the lack of torque really does show itself.

A good engine in a good car but it aint the best engine in history by a long shot!

Depends what you want in a car!

If you want a Civic in that style with a bit more "go" in it you could always look for the TypeR version

About 185bhp from the 1.6 VTEC engine, 0-60 in about 5.7 seconds I think, pretty nippy

i'm with dean.

i've raced a lads from work's standard jordan in the astra, and beat it quite happily. i've raced a few xe'd corsas/novas and they're pretty much equal to the astra.

I wasnt impressed with the Jordans power at all (especially that one with the bumble bee's on it), my gti has beaten them over the 1/4 mile in some cases quite easily

I would still like one though, as soon as you put some decent performance gear in it they can be very quick

iv had 2 civics , second one being a jordan
great cars,
got to rev them to fuck but still ace, and what a fucking sound you get when the v-tech kicks in(not quite as good as my throttle bodies but close)

i loved my jordan until the fateful night when this happened.

oh and they are hardy cars , i came out of that with just cuts and bruised ribs, and a little bit of blood loss
