as far as im aware olly the f13 and f15 have idnetical ratios apart from 5th in the f15, which is longer, so possibly

Also some of those will be f15 others f13 i would expect the 16v's to be f15s

Also my old Nova sri 1.4 8v did 132mph flat out.

You defo vouch that it was hitting those speeds? How? by looking at the speedo infront of you thats inacurate? or by following behind and saying 'well on my which is also inacurate speedo it's showing 120 so he is doing 120!'

Unless your using GPS equipment or have a police gun shot at you, you cannot tell me your speed is accurate sorry!

I had 130 mph on my clock in my 106 gti and it only showed at 122 mph on the road angel! with GPS! (This was before I got my wake up call and brought me back to reality!)

My Corsa Sxi 1.2 16v, had 117 mph on the clocks!!! I was probably only doing 106 mph.

Not only can your speedo be inacurate to start with. but things like (change in wheel size can affect speedo) - but also as you speed up the force acting outwards on things spinning (go on one of those rides in the park and spin it round, it'll try to chuck you off), so your tyres increase size as you get faster and faster... when your doing over 100 mph your speedo will be like 8-10 mph out (give or take either way)

I totally agree with you i can not 100% say that it was defo doing 120 just by what was reading on the clock. Just what you say i was only saying what was reading on the clock. By saying i can vouch i was only meaning i was there and saw what the clock said.

Here's a question its my understanding that the V grills have digital speedos and not speedo cables like older corsas...so no matter how big or small your wheels the digital speedo will still be accurate.

haha my corsa was a v-grill...

your talking about a electric speedo 'so the needle is turned round by a motor, which is electric' - rather than being pulled by a cable.

So what? doesn't mean it's accurate.

think about it for a sec - HOW does it know how fast it's going... It's only a sensor looking at how quick a wheel is going around or something.

Unless the car has GPS, your talking babble.

no as it is fed off the gear box....gear box wil lspin the same but putting bigger wheels in effectivly changes the gear ratios

By law your car cannot leave the factory with a speedo that reads less than the real life road speed. They are allowed to show 10% faster than you actually are though. So if your's shows 70 there is a good chance you might only be doing 63. Two of the guys at worked checked out their Focus ST170's and one was doing 68 whilst reading 70 and the other was showing 70 whilst doing 63. Verified by GPS.

Top speed of my standard VX is 135 according to the brochure. No idea what that reflects to on the speedo though. Speedo goes upto 160 though so next time I am on that private road I could find out.

i wouldnt think it would change the gear ratio as you are not changing any cogs in the gear box..but it would take longer for it to rev out.
I was only trying to prove a point that it was more accurate than a speedo cable...am i right?

Where did you get that info from, because Haynes indicates that the F13 and F15 differ in 2nd gear and final drives
