they should do that thing were they stand them all on start, blindfold them, spin them round several times to make them dizzy, then set them off

I feel for everyone involved,
no doubt il have an assignment on this at uni next year.
The single set of tyres rule is extremely controversial, look at the crashes and punctures and retirements this year. Due to tyres,
in my opinion this is a compromise of safety as the tyre is all that holds a f1 car to the track.
They should be allowed 2 sets of tyres for a race so when they get to a dangerous state they can be changed, loose the traction control - yes a compromise but less than tyres as drivers can be lighter on the pedal and better drivers will shine.
Engines i tend to agree with as they seem to be getting more reliable but if the fia, drivers, michellin, teams cannot agree upon something within 24 hours that is very sad.
I really do feel that f1 is on the downhill slope, the a1 grand prix may proove more competitive but time will tell with that i guess
rant over

its great people posting thinking they have a clue, but they dont lol
you can change your tyre if its in a dangerous state, and what different would it make givin them a second set? all the michelin tyres were fked so how is two fked sets better than one? or just give them 73 sets and let them change after every lap? hmmm
end of the day the fia were in a no win situation, let them have a new tyre, let them put a chicane in, would opiss ferrari, fair enough, only 1 team, but why should they compramise, they had a car worthy of a race?
if it had been the other way round and bridgestone couldnt race and mich could, fk all would be said, its just because of the majority...if bridge tyres couldnt take the corner, all 14 mich cars would have ran for sure

Thats funny i study a motorsport degree and you say i have no idea. i do no the rules and where do i state that 2 tyres in that race would have worked??
They need more tyres to race on, that way they can push the cars further and to a safer limit, same with all racing. yes thay can change a tyre if its deemed unfit for race use, thats one tyre though!
A new set of cut slicks half way through the race will bring back the fun of pit stops and strategies. Also make it far more safer for the cars to run, look at the state of the tyres after races or when they blow up and puncture.
The fact of the matter is, its dangerous as they demanding more from a tyre than it can deliver, not just in this case today.
