Ban: Looking more like a prison sentance, i most certainly wouldnt stop at those speeds. the most common fastest police car on the motorway is the T5 they do 160mph. so if your doing 170+ they have to catch up and then your still gaining.. got about 20mins for the chopper to come out. unless its already about!!! chance you take..

^^ Let'd corsa would fall off the track, esp one like steve's as the turbo spins up so fast..
you'd be halfway round a corner, come on boost, and probably die or somthing
Timmey, what revs were you pulling for that kinda speed , ive just touched off the clock at 6ish (wasnt really looking at the clocks, more like the road) musta been somewhere near the red surley.. although my current mission, is to get a pic of both needles off the clock

My best mate has a silly TB'd Mk3 Astra... The handling on it is immense. He sees no reason why mine can't be up there with the right kit on and setup correctly...
Its all about the driver, if you feather the accelerator there is no sudden on boost moments. Plus when were on the straight I just put my foot down, instant power, the TB'd astra takes a little bit of winding on, even at hight revs (Has the SBD 275 kit on, so powerband is very high on the revs).
Mattb..... my rev counter goes off at 7k, which with an F28 box and 195/45/16's (according to the vauxhall speed calculator for gearbox's) is 175mph, but I imagine that is with the diamiter of a new tyre with full tread. My tyres were warn so I'd say 7k might be 173 or thereabouts.
But as my rev counter stops at 7k, I can't say for sure how much over 7k I was doing....

Seen it, done it, depends on the driver.

if both drivers are on even par then the 2ltr on TB's will win every time round a track, useable power at all revs, whereas the turbo lump will always be fighting the lag at lower revs, plus the added wieght of the LET will increase lift off oversteer even more

If the drivers were even par then they would aquire a brain and keep constant corner throttle without lifting off, they would prepare for this yards before the corner, LET's weigh a fraction more, not a lot in it.
Whatever engine your using, use it to it's advantages, you'd never enter a track in a LET knowing your getting bad lag neither, that's just amatuer at all angles.

my car is nowhere near one of the top fastest/quickest on this site...
i would like to get her to track spec and sort the suspension/brakes/LSD/clutch (although i have some uprated jobbie, im sure i would need better)
i want to make the car run a safe amount of power around 350bhp.. but we shall see about that later
going to power engineering next weekend, so will see how much is kicking out now (hope for around 270-290)
