Are these super light corsa going to be used much on the track, or is it really just bragging rights your going for?

when i can afford to i might consider something sensible, but for now it'll be an everyday car too, which may mean some comprimises on lightness

have you had your car weighed yet?
For the cost, polycarb are a waste of time.

the area behind the bumper where the crash bar is, is a lot less damaged looking than the rest of the boot. im all for lightness and wish i had a 2nd car but safety is a must.

The crash bar behind the bumper is to give the bumper strength in minor impacts, it doesn't play much of a part in protecting from larger ones.

yes because the roll cage would weigh the same as the 125kg i have shed by stripping the car
it would weigh about 25kg
Plus if your going to be tracking it I'd tell you what I would prefer, and it wouldnt be the extra interior parts!!

nothing could protect it from a pick up and bull bar!
wouldnt worry me if the crash bar was missing

fitting poly carb windows allows lots of weight to be lost from cutting the doors and removing the winders etc... bit weight loss. the cage really doesn't weigh that much, i know mine doesn't and if robin s going for the same then his wont. robins has already seen track action too, just needs more power lol! with the cae in the back the crash bar really wont be needed and in the case of a shunt the car would probably just be reshelled into a merit or something (that is what i plan on doing if worse comes to worse. novas are a good choice to do this to, but you have added costs of fixing the rust holes mot of them have etc... also if he as into novas he'd be on novaload.net and showing his weight loss on there lol!
as for replacing the crash bar robin.... not a chance sorry dude, i got bored....

Yea, but it needs to be made of titanium. Which is a lot more expensive than cutting bits off of your car and hoping for the best.
