what size tank, type of fish, etc.?

My 5ft one with the beech stand costs around £400-450 and thats for everything (tank, stand, filter, lights, etc.) and all you need is some gravel or sand and fish.

the 7ft tank cost me about £450ish(2nd hand), made the stand myself for about £150 as had some of the wood for the framing already.

the other 5ft tank cost me £220 (new) and the stand will cost about £100 to make.

this thread is awesome

ive only got my 3ft at the mo, stuck with mbuna LM cichlids at this time. gettin pretty big.

comso get yours matured man, i might have two pirahnas for sale soon, about 3" in size, could be a nice kick start.

as for those inquiring about marine, i believe the list to date that you need is as followed:
min 40"x24"x24" tank
external filter cannister
undertank sump
osmosis reverser (opt)
protein skimmer
x2 flourescent light tubes
live coral rock

will cost you around the 700 pound all in all if you want a good set-up

haha, thats harsh! I had 10 Ternetzi (yellow bellied version of the red!) in the other 5ft tank of mine, only had one death in over a year! Grew like monsters aswell from 4" to around 7".

Hopefully getting a Venezulen Rhom Piranha in about two weeks, similar to this guy but atleast a couple of inches bigger!

yeah just moved it there, definitly better than where it used to be (along the wall to the left of that pic). Room looks smaller than it is in that pic, is another 4ft or so more width to the room but tele was there so couldnt get any further over to get pics!

Got a new greay sofa coming in a few weeks aswell which has a slight corner bit the width of the tank.

hell yeah, still waiting on final size as is always hit and miss with South American suppliers. But its listed as 'King Kong' on the import papers and has its own special box so we think atleast 15", possibly alot more!

I can wait until I get a house as cant get a tank larger than 6ft in this apartment, but will go for a 10fter or so once Ive a house!
