Only ---Dave--- is right... anyone who has seen Adriano take a shot will agree that he WILL win the Golden Boot!!!
I've seen Adriano play an awful lot for Inter (being a Inter fan...) and I can confirm he has a awesome shot on him, but he is also very very lazy when playing for Inter, if he's like that playing for Brazil then he won't be golden boot winner, but I suspect he'll play much better for Brazil than he does for Inter..........
this is the thing, for me anyway, he hasn't really done anything on the big stage yet, he's scored a barrel load for brazil in internationals but not at major finals?
id be more content with a fiver on lukas podolski, i can see germany giving costa rica and ecuador a hiding
Hes never playted on the big stage has he! He scores hatfuls for brazil!!
This is true i kind of contradicted myself with that comment
I can just see germany being germany, passing under the radar as usual pre tournament then getting to the final by letting very little in and by podolski or klose scoring 6 or 7 goals.
If ballack is injured for the 1st match as well you'll see more responsibility on the strikers to get the goals.

I'm sure Germany will do well despite having a young squad as they have home support... it helped a (lets be honest) not great France win the 98 world cup!!

Japan and South Korea punched above their weight as well last time around, Germany have home support, are used to the climate and they will recieve a certain degree of refereeing bias.
I hate saying you think they'll do well though its not as if they play flowing attacking gung ho football, its all disciplined tactically astute counter attacking boring rubbish. Were 90% of their goals not headers at the last world cup?

With this kind of question, you've got to think "What strikers will get more service, more service=more chances at goal"
It would be silly to pick the best striker in the world, with a shite midfield behind him, so I stick by my original choice in all the other similiar threads, Carlos Tevez, with Riquelme making the play and the quality of passing from the holding midfielder Mascherano.
Also Cambiasso can play killer balls through from the midfield, gotta say Tevez is looking a good choice.
But Jiainho, please enlighten me - why oh why OH WHY aren't Argentina taking Javier Zanetti? You seem to know a lot about South American football maybe you can shed some light on it? He's one of the best right backs in the world and has had a(nother) awesome season for Inter so there has to be something more to it than his ability.
