SRi is 1030kg, not 1090, and the GTi you are quoting has 135bhp. whats with that

but steve, thats just a load of numbers, mean nothing in reality!

ive had a go with a vts in my 1.8 sri onto a motorway off a slip road, the vts pulled about 1 car length in front up to 70mph then it was even. both backed off at 90ish as the corsa was gaining on it.

evenly matched imo as far as power, but the corsa is much better to drive, better built, not chavvy.

not sure how you can say a corsa is a better drive than a 106 or saxo vts, the corsa c i drove feels wallowy, ok it may have better sound insulation etc etc but as a drivers car, no way

i love driving mine, its very sure-footed, corners flat and gets power down nicely. wheels chirp a little on understeer, but then tyres catch grip and it pulls out well.

you can tell from just looking at them, that a 106 or saxo with handle better than a corsa

i have had one, a 1.8 c, and yes, a saxo handles better, much better infact, but i would say it is very close between them power wise, which infact if you take into accound the 2 different engine sizes, the saxo is faster!!!! end of!

Im dead level with a 1.8 SRi from about 30 - 100, but my mate's 106 GTI pulls about 1 car length over that distant, so i would say the vts/gti is quicker

GAYS the corsa has 123 bhp/ton the vts has nearly 140 where are you getting this quicker to 100 shite from

iv seen it in loads of places from different sources that the 1.8 SRi is 27/28 secs to 100 its old news even ross knows this

just because its a corsa and this is a corsa site, doesnt mean you can just brush timed figures to the side because it suits you

everything including the power ratios, compared to the times etc adds up, its true., accept it
