Man Utd are better than Spurs, with or without Carrick.
IMO
Yep although they WILL suffer if they don't bring in a top marksmen... unless Rossi turns into a superstar theothers mentioned cannot garner them enough goals to win the title but Liverpool have often made CL etc without a top top striker so it wouldnt hurt them, they would perhaps slip to 3-4 rather than 1-2 :S

Comso mate, you cannot compare the financial relationship between Leeds and Man Utd...
Man Utd are in no financial bother at all... they cna continue to re-finance year after year... their profits are so high that the interest will be swallowed up... same as Arsenal, massive debts re. Stadium but 100% manageable!!
Now, that may be affected if Man Utd didn't make the CL one year but they are a huge club and carry huge financial sway... that would hurt them but they would survive...
Leeds ont he other hand, they never bought anybody... they leased them and are still paying for players they sold years ago... they made appalling financial decisions on the back of a dream and for them, when it didn't happen, it hurt them abd... they don't have the sway or support behind them that Man utd enjoy...
Summary: Man Utd are not in financial trouble and will not lose players etc

True enough, but Spurs still wouldn't finish higher than Man Utd.

Exactly and I certainly don't think Carrick is the kind of player who will make the difference between any 2 teams... that said, he is a decent enough player but £18.6m

Id value him at around 8m personally
Scott Parker is a better player and look how much Newcastle got him for!

Do you actually know what Man Utds profits have been over the last 2-3 seasons? They arent as high as it seems you think (i.e they are nowhere near the 60million interest payments a year, and never have been even when winning the Prem).
And Leeds bought all the players outright, the funny business came about when selling them as they needed to get rid right away to raise the money, hecne deals like Fowlers came about where Leeds were still paying 1/4 of his wages last year when he was back at us!

Incorrect, majority of leeds players (robbie keane, viduka, seth johnson etc) were ALL bought on leases... then they sold them and were still payign the leases and some of the wages!!

AGreed, we paid £6.8m for a captain of a top national team who is of a similar age!!
UK prices are stupid... £12m for Walcott! £10m requested for Davies!!

The 14mil for Fowler (their most expensive?) was outright, not even over a few seasons. If they were bought on leases then how did the amount of debt they have become so high, as transfers wouldnt of been that high (no outright payments)

Interest payments, the transfer fee was probably 60% of what they were paying back + inflated wages etc
I don't know the ins and outs of it but I do know the facts :S

Yeah, Fowler didnt have many good things to say about him in his autobiography. App he kept using this one agent for every deal and paying him huge fees even when he wasnt needed!

Too add to this, I've just been informed Middlesbrough have agreed a Fee with Spurs for Stewart Downing. 15 million
Making a mockery of the transfer market!

Manchester police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward in an unprovoked mugging in the city. The police are keen to question a short, Jewish man who is thought to be connected in the mugging of an elderly, red-faced Scottish man who had in excess of £18.6m stolen from him.
