ok pros of owning a 4x4
Can go off road
May be debatably a fraction safer
cons:
cost more to run
tax more
harder to drive
dangerous to pedestrians
dangerous to other car drivers
unstable
makes you look a cunt if your
a) in a suit
b) a mum with a kid
bad for environment
so unless you need it off road not a great justification of ownership

saw a thing where a family who wanted to upgrade there 4x4 were given a merc normal car for a week. at the end they could not justify why they needed a 4x4, but went and bought one, pure status

I saw that aswell. Seemed daft to go and buy the 4x4 when they had proved to themselves they didn't even need it

Dad had a range rover, i was on the insurance from time to time. One of the best cars ive ever ever driven.
So practical. Loading area is enormous. Drop down lid is exellent. Carries dogs, gardening equipment, stone statue ans all that crap, car parts, moving house it was so helpfull as you can get full erected peices of furniture in there.
On top of all of that, its not THAT big, it is easily the comfiest car ive ever been in, driving position is excellent and its very good and driving through floods! (lived by a river at the time)
I hate all this anti 4x4 crap. People need to channel their anger at something thats actually worth it. Like war, terorism, famine or something.
If pollution is your game, go to cairo then come back here telling me we have to worry about suv's.

Its the last point here that makes me frustrated with 4x4 drivers, taking their kids to school 1 miles down the road, people dont care as they will never see the effects if their lifetime.

Well said that man .
Im taking delivery of my range rover sport very soon and i can fully agree with Jambo. It is the comfiest and smoothest car i have ever been in .Also for a car its size it handling is out of this world, and i came out of a BMW M sport which had spot on handling.

I went from driving a corsa sport to a vogue 4.6hse and it was easy as pie, mine was being serviced and i had the range rover for a meeting (was shop manager for music company) Should have seen peoples faces when i turned up in a range rover It was halarious
Bad points, were the one i drove was the non bmw one and it wasnt that relaible and the engine went porous @ 56k and cost a FORTUNE to fix
My dad now driving a 530i sport misses his and really wants another one.
Id have one in a heartbeat.
