give or take 15 and a half grand, yes.
I thought Audi were releasing the new S3 at around £27k?

If I had over £10k to spend on a car I would go for something VAG.
Or possibly Jap.

I'm with James personally, would never spend that sort of money on a Vauxhall.
Out of the 2 though i'd have the 888, VXR is a bit garish for my liking.

Depreciation mainly, if I bought a VXR for example brand new, after say 2 years, it would have lost so much value.
For over 10k, you are looking at a tidy A3/Golf/LCR

OK, VAG cars are notoriously more reliable and well built than Vauxhall.

Don't be ridiculous James, VAG cars aren't all they are hyped up to be.
In regards to the 888 Vs VXR debate, as much as I love the 888 I think I would get bored and wished I had bought the VXR in about a month.

I don't have anything against Vauxhall, infact my next car is going to be an Astra GSi Turbo, but when I've graduated and I'm in a better financial position, I want a new Audi S3

tbh the reliability really isn't all it's cracked up to be, go jap if you want reliability. My mates DC5 gets driven how it is supposed to be every day and he hasn't had one problem, with 22k in my pocket thats wot i'd get, and i'd have 7k to spend on it!!!!!!!

Monaro?
I'm going to hazard a guess that something better could be had for the money.

888 over vxr for me, Plenty fast enough for the road imo, and decent mpg, spot on.

I personally don't feel that I could enjoy owning a diesel. Maybe I'll own try it one day and love it, but right now my list of favorite cars is populated by those which sound and feel like they should.
Shame that, fair enough they sound like a bag of spanners on a winter morning but the upturn in performance gains turbo dervs are now seeing over the petrol rivals is night and day.
The main point here though is disregarding the engine and the performance difference as minimal, the 888 looks a far better car.
All personal opinion though of course.
