What BHP is a TB VTS?? How much does it weigh?? Simple logic which can be explained with the following equation :
This roughly translates as:
H= Evo
(s) = probably standard
Infinity over f over 0 = Mass of Tinfoil
e = % alot less than Evo
-st = annoyingness of plebhead in passenger seat
h = Throttlebodies
t = riskier driver
dt = extra 8bhp if you stick the rear seats down thus reducing drag.
Conclusion - if the Evo had the same money thrown on it & lost some weight the paxo would be left standing

Evo wouldn't have to be booting it to have flames could be running AL (haven't bothered watching vid).
I'd quiet happily give a VTS on TBs a slice of GTF pie too
These internet vids always make me laugh, so many factors who knows who was trying!

All these people sticking up for the evo as if its the be all and end all in quick cars.
To me its pretty clear that the evo is being caned if you watch the vid and that the saxo is bloody quick.
flames, chucking round the corners and at one point the evo nearly spins its only the fact its 4wd that is doesnt.
Saxo driver is better then the driver in the evo its as simple as that even if his passenger is a complete knobber

people dont give the 106gti/vts enough credit in the handling stakes.
remember the top gear video with all the top supercars at the time and the 106gti in it? they placed it 2nd only being bettered by a ferrari.
and you cant even claim it was clarkson just being clueless because richard burns was also testing and they all came to the conclusion

So does the plane take off or not?
that proper made me chuckle matt h
heres a post we can all agree on
1.the passanger is a twat
2.at least they were enjoying themselves round a track, even if it is on an airfield wiv a bunch of cones, roll on corsasport track day at brands

probably not but i think people think that an evo would out handle a VTS by a country mile but i think it would be fairly close if both were being timed round a bend

Steve go drive an Evo and then tell me a VTS handles just as well.
I had a GTi, yes it did handle well. For a small FWD hot hatch. Does it handle as well as an Evo? No! and I've had two Evos now so think I can make a comment on it
Add the vast power/torque increase and there isn't a comparison unless we're talking very tight and twisty corners set up in a car park with cones then yeah it probably would be close.

yea the evo would blatantly be faster out the corners, reckon the speeds maintained going in would be quite close though

look at that vid of burns chucking it round the track though shows how they do handle well when driven properly

FFS a VTS 106 GTI WILL NOT BE AS GOOD AS A EVO AROUND A TRACK ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL, I.E THE DRIVER.
Why do people think otherwise?

firstly either the driver or the passenger of the vts sounds like such a cock, no respect for the fact that alot of people on that track might be first timers and are taking it easy.
i know someone who had a stripped 16v s1 rallye, that thing handled very well and went well with only a few thoughtful mods(was around 150ish bhp) but i also know someone with an evo 7 who is a very capable driver and the rallye cannot keep up on the b roads or on the track. 106s and saxos can be made to handle very well with only ITRs, CTRs , 182 cups etc being able to match them when in standard form but none can come close to amount of grip the evo has, ever.
and as for straight line speed of the evo the figures speak for themselves

Why do people think otherwise?
because they go round chasing evo drivers who are getting to it on the track/ having abit of fun etc and assume that the evo driver has the same mentality as a saxo driver and 'must' be flooring it

through tight corners like in that vid yes i do believe the VTS will be able to match the evo, but not saying the vts will be better around the whole track as it will clearly lose out coming out the corners and on the straights.
I believe paul j? was sat on an Evos bumper going into some of those corners at coombe, only on the straights was he losing out
the evo being 4wd will be more forgiving and grip better so you really have to know how to drive the VTS to get the best from it, most day to day drivers wont know how to do this including me, hence why people who have driven VTS's and evos think the EVO is the clear winner even on the bends
