well if thats what ran then thats the figures that were produced on the day. as I said, a Dyno Dynamics RR in shootout mode cant be fiddled. if you do manage to fiddle the figures it shows in the figures at the bottom of the graph. being caught doing this means you get your DD traders licence revoked and you are not able to advertise your company using the DD logo or brand name. they take it very seriously.

you have to remember a turbo's engine can make more power than n/a. its not impossible to believe that those figures are true.

but a 1.2 16v corsa engine isnt designed to run with a turbo. so will run low boost and wont give those sort of figures.

look at the facts, its basicly a bolt on conversion. even 1.6 engines that were built to be turbo'd dont make 160bhp from the factory in most cases

i disagree dave, im sorry.

you can turbo a high compression engine. if anything you can get the same bhp at less boost from then as a low compression engine.

i belive it

no, but it's not a factory engine Dave, it's a tuned one.

a 1.6 cvh turbo in a fiesta/escort will make 200bhp with standard internals.

it COULD be right, you just don't know.

but a jump of 70bhp is credible on a 1.6 honda engine

a jump of 70bhp on a 1.2 is not.

agreed. look at other n/a's that get turbo'd. most honda n/a's get around 100bhp on as dave says, low boost. theyre never discredited are they? mate has a prelude, 200bhp std, kit reckons be over 300 at 6psi, if you search the net, they often make more than that. thats a low pressure turbo on a high compression engine.

running an engine with 11:1 compression ratio at 6psi is the equivelant to running an engine at say 9:1 with 15psi. get similar power output.

are you winding me up?

the bigger the capacity, the bigger the gain. its credible for a bolt on kit on a bigger engine to produce good figures, look at those 2 brothers (cant remember their name) that did a turbo'd 1.6 with headwork, cams, omex management, steel bottom end, low comp pistons..... it made 180bhp and 145 lb/ft but wasnt ever reliable. I saw the work, it was top notch not a bodge.

so a 1.2 bolt on kit with NO cams, no headwork, no strengthening, no low comp pistons, low boost and a standard ecu makes just 20bhp and 20lb/ft less than a propely built and setup engine

more boost and more fuel = power. as long as the timing ie map or whatever is correct there is no problem.

uno turbo's, 1,3 engine can get 400bhp, same for renault 5. thats more than the average cossie dave? thats no based on cc?

why then can you get 240bhp out of a 1litre motorbike engine if its all relative to capacity then?

im trying to say its possible, everyone is too blinded by the 1.2 bit to think about it properly.

i suggest dave you look into turbo's a bit more before you try and say things are rubbish. im not having a go, im just saying you are basing your replies on your own n/a engine i guess. and thats a different thing altogether really.

l30 sct fitted an inlet manifold and some cams, got 60bhp, nobody bothers to question that do they?
