OMG loose the attitude chap its the internet, when did i say the focus isnt a hot hatch? I merely stated it didnt start the trend.....
I think you need to loosen up a little pal, we are all car enhusiasts here, which means i for one like almost all makes of cars, i cant get excited about a mondeo im afraid had one for 3months worst car i have driven. Hghly overrated IMO.
Focus RS on the other hand would be in my top 3 cars to own next, im not a badge snop or die hard fan.
I also do not make shit up.

The Mk1 Escort doesn't handle well by todays standards, which is what I'm talking about, hence why I said the Focus and Mondeo set the trend off.
The Mk3/4 Fiesta handles better than the Corsa B. The Mk5/6 better than the Corsa C.
Focus handles better than the Astra.
Mondeo handles better than the Cavalier Vectra.

So ford make the best hanlding small ahtch, hot hatch, and family wagon
And you say im blinkered
The onyl good handlers to come from Ford themselves recently is the new Fiesta ST, although thats massivly underpowered, esp for a 2.0.
Focus RS, but that had a fancy diff, although the standard focus platform I admit is a superb handler...
Your basically saying that Ford create the best handling cars oh lordy...

All models that have now been replaced by newer versions of which...
The Astra is now better at corners than the focus, FACT proven on many race circuit tests already.... You will deny this im sure though
New Vectra, well like the ST220, its a motorway car, so not many will care on teh handling as anyone who wants a good handling car will not be buying an ST220 with so many other market options.
Cavailer was also designed like 5+ years before the Mondeo... Least put things into timescales.
The corsa has never handled well, until now..........

that'll be why they use mondeos in stage rallying then, or FWD focus's, or other equally 'well handling' modern cars. clearly.

Purely because it's nonsense. Put the new ST against the VXR and it'll wipe the floor with it.

The Mondeo was released in 1992. The Cavalier wasn't all that far in front of it.
The corsa has never handled well, until now..........
Yeah, I hear the Fiat Corsa...sorry Vauxhall is actually not as bad as previous versions. Can't think why.

I don't need to prove it right. This is a Vauxhall forum, venture out onto the vast interweb and you'll see it's actually general consensus.

Yeah he had the ST220, some warm Mazda 6 and the Vectra. The Vectra was good at chewing tyres, but all the Vauxhall fans claim it wasn't fair because he was using the accelerator in a corner

I don't get what you're arguing for?
This is a CORSA website, the CORSA is built by VAUXHALL, which means we like VAUXHALLS.
Cavalier was released in 1988, New corsa is a GM car, not a Fiat, Fiat share the floorpan built by GM.

You really are a fool arn't you.. YEs, the new ST is far quicker and better than the VXR..
Thats why some ST owners have sold up in favour of a VXR, thats why Autocar have had both cars and a Golf GTi for 6 months and rate the Astra as the clear leader, thats why the VXR done Nurberg in 8.35 and the ST was only 6 seconds quicker than the ZAFIRA VXR......
Sorry, yeah, i hear the new Focus ST VOLVO powered cars arn't too bad, but no VXR, a car built by Vauxhall
If fords were THAT good they would be re-entered into BTCC or an independent team would be using them. The only reason the Astra is being removed from the BTCC this year is due to the areodynamics and that the Vectra offers better airflow.
Cavalier was in the mid 80's, nope, 80's, 90's not much at all. The world as a whole really didn't develope much between the 80's and 90's did it.
Damnn boyo, go back to the ford site...

The Mk3 Cav wasn't released in 88. That's the Mk2. The Corsa D is based on the Gamma platform which was originally used by the Fiat Punto Grande. HTH.

Seriously mate, the Mk3 Cavalier was released in 1988, believe me.
Has it occured to you that the Gamma platform is a General Motors one?
It was ORIGINALLY used on the Corsa C.
HTH.

Fcuking hell this is the most ridiculous post I have ever seen on this forum EVER!!!
Go on Youtube and watch Tiff Needall racing the two around a race track one handed you twat.
That is just one example of the VXR beating the ST, ok it doesn't have a massive advantage over the ST but it has a advantage none the less in every aspect of the car.
