They tend to prefer to insure older cars with modifications rather than newer cars of quite high value.

When i quiried that my excess was 450 and that the market value of my car was very little one said that i get an agreed value back, which stands at 1600, then another said they claim the money back on mods as much as possible? Which doesn't sound right as i have stuff like half leather interior, which i got second hand but form puegeot would no doubt be stupid money, so don't see how that works?!

Any ideas on this Rach?
Or has anyone made a claim with brentacre on a modified car policy to shed any light?

No idea TBH, I think you agree an amount with them for the cars value including mods, now a 1.0 Nova Merit nowdays is worth £200 quid? I have the agreed value of my Nova at £2000 quid, so in event of an accident I get back what I think the car is worth.

At least thats how I think it works?

Thats what i thought, it best do or we are fucked if we claim!
If it does work as so, then with more mods this value should be re-assessed in theory, like i've put half leather seats in recently, so i might mention something when i get around to ringing up. Seems very grey to me, i'd phone up and find out but don't fancy hearing that i'm paying for not alot!

they don't its a modified car policy, you can phone up and add stuff on as and when and they don't charge, which is a plus point.

It's an 01 local number .

For most people ringing from a mobile with free minutes, it's actually cheaper, cause you usually have to pay for 0800 numbers .
