On the flip side - if a reliable, honest mate came along and offered me the chance of getting a joint mortgage, I would entertain that all day.
The fact its with the lady friend throws too much doubt into my mind.

Only reason i fully decided to move out was because I got a payrise at work, and have another one in April so it kinda re-inforced my decision. Plus me and my 2 friends sat down and pretty much worked out all the costs/outgoings to as close as we could (except bills obviously) to see how much we would all have spare. I was easily safe with plenty, if not to much left a month. The other two earn less so have to budget a bit more, which is ok for them as they arent into cars and spending etc lol.
Only annoying thing is that i wanted a new car, i was saving up for a new one, but then i thought theres nothing wrong with the corsa, and i would rather want my own place so to speak.

know the feeling
when first moved out i sold my FTO free up some cash, both in the overall value of the car and running costs, settled for a cheaper 106 GTi in the end.
gets better when you get yourself sorted tho, managed save up and upgraded to astra coupe

I was 19 when moved out and TBH i loved having my own space and independance, But also alot of responsibility & costs, not to mention the amount of furnishings/Fixtures you need to buy once you move in, Although i am now 20 and live with my Mum again as she isn't too well .
My friend however is 25 next month and still lives with his mum and he doesnt plan to move out untill he has cleared all his debts in 4 years

I couldnt be at home at 29, that would be weird i think. My life plan is all about getting married/start having kids when im around 26-27 - that means i got 5 years to find a suitable woman to plant my seeds in! also want to have kids as early as poss as i'll be in a stable job then earning loads and also be young enough when there 18 or so to still be able to do everything with them or whatever

at home, 23 in less that a week, To be honest moving out is years away for me. reckon i'll be 30! Girlfriend lives in student accomadation though so spend alot of time there. She has ages left before she starts earning so reckon it will be a while before can afford it especially with the housing market as it is.

ojc im in a simialr position to you, im 24 my girlfriend is 22. About 3 or 4 my best mates have just started to buy thier own places, me and the missus have been freakin out a bit thats its time to buy somewear but my girlfriend loves credit cards and i love thrashing french hot hatch's so if we did buy now id have to give up alot
Im lucky though i converted my shed (used to be a cattle shed) into a little flat thing so i can shag/smoke in peace without all my parents breathing down my neck. Think im gonna waite till im 25
