Looks like Burnley are signing Stephen Caldwell from Sunderland (ex Newcastle). Badly need a defender, frank Sinclair has been poor this season, John Mcgreal is getting on, Wayne Thomas has been dreadful. Mike Duff is good, and Stephen Foster has hardly played

Sheffield Wednesday have agreed a fee in excess of £250,000 with Luton Town for the transfer of Drew Talbot to Kenilworth Road.

The 20-year-old striker has travelled south for talks with Mike Newell’s side.

Talbot recently joined Scunthorpe United on loan and scored in his second start for them at Doncaster Rovers last Saturday.

He has made seven appearances for the Owls this season, five of them coming as a substitute.

Newell will sort him out.

Colchester United fans said that about Rowan Vine before we signed him. He came good. Plus Newell is a boozer so that might not be too bad, they can discuss tactics whilst wasted

Apparently Ryan Babel of Ajax fame was in London watching Arsenal though it is reported he was only watching Arsenal as a fan.

Also on SSN last night it said Arsenal have entered the race to sign Gareth Bale.

I think they may be a bit of upraor tomorrow at our game due to selling our best player and bringing in nodbody at all to replace him or strengthen the team, even though after our last 2 gams we've been promised "major changes"

Yes. IMO Freddies time at the club has come to an end. He is 30 which isnt too old, but injuries and a lack of form means IMO he is free to leave

From what I have heard....

Mascherano has been allowed to sign for us and it will be announced either today or on deadline day. It will be an 18month loan deal with a view to a permanent deal at the end.

We are also offering new contracts to Carra and Gerrard at the end of the season, aswell as Alonso and Garcia. This is due to the new rule that comes into effect this summer that allows any player who signed his contract prior to turning 28 and has served 2 years of it to buy themselves out of it, so basically putting their value at whatever is left owed to them on the contract.
