They're quality little motors until your gearbox turns to porridge! I'm now on the hunt for a 9lb sledgey!!
Mine has grooved disks and uprated pads and the brakes are awesome, no fade at all, very very good. I really need to pull my finger out and get some new wheels.

Think im goin for Black tbh
just waiting for Dave A to come on Msn so i can get another compared price for a 106 gti set up on T'bs...
Like i said Nw ive drove both 106 and Xe Corsa there isnt much in it tbh so a 160-170bhp 106 gti should be rather Fun i think.
I looked on that Pug performance site £3500 for a turbo Conversion of u[ to 190-203bhp at 18psi but Fuckin £3.5k for a conversion..Plus ive been told Tbs sound Awesome.
I always look after my cars/Vans/bikes its a way of life for me

good choice mate, the gear box on the wifes old GTI was on its lastlegs when we got it, luckily it lasted till we got rid of it, mine on the other hand is spot on no whines, crunches etc and its the original box
They look good in black but are a complete nightmare to keep clean
I was after a white one when I came across my red one locally for a great price
This is the wifes old one (my mate got it now)

this is mine and i'm so glad I got the cherry red
