8.4, but it was tested to be faster, also the fact its the same as the vts and that was quoted as 7.4 from the manu.
Until the corsa has been oficially retested by evo or something 7.0 is all we have to go on. It may be faster, it may be slower, but at the moment the only figure we have is 7.0

and 6.8 from autocar
truth is, we might not find out its true performance until some engines have been 'run-in'. WHen Ford released the 400bhp F6 Typhoon in australia (4.0 straight 6 turbo), performance times on the early reviews were like 6.5-7 secs to 100kmh. now its a benchmark with easy mid 5's

cant get the site to load
quick google brings up most places saying 6.8 so maybe that is what vauxhall are quoting.
Last time i looked at that vxr site was before release so 7.0 may have been a pre production estimate

Youuuuu what?
Over-polished?
Is that worse than it being un-finished?
Think it means it's lost some of it's edge in terms of being an out and out track-aimed hatch.
But then it also says that it's a better road car than the clio or cooper s

how many people buy a brand new car with the aim of it being a track car though as long as its good on the road thats where it matters
BTW I'm not meaning that to come across in an arsey way Tom

190bhp against 150bhp, hell of a difference. Might come down to the drive though XE Corsas seem to get away very quickly.

I'm guessing theres a hell of weight difference too.
Anyone know the offical weight of the VXR? got to be around 1300kg?

But an XE in a B is not comparable to a modern engine in a modern chassis...
If the D can put the traction down better than the B, the weight isn't as much of an issue.
It's a small block engine anyway, so it'll go round corners

I doubt the D can put it down better though, unless it has some sort of LSD?
We'll forget handling for now

It will be able to put the power down better, without a doubt. It's not all about if it's got an LSD or not, suspension setup has a lot to do with it, and the supension on the D is going to be infinitely better than an XE'd B on coilovers which haven't been set up properly.

A mk4 astra SRi is around that weight, so I would say nearer 1100kg - complete guess too, so no quotes please.

No I know, that's what I meant anyway who's gonna track a brand new corsa vxr it'll be mainly owned by youngish lads and girls upto about mid/late 20's who buy it cos' of the name or looks or something.
It's sounds like the compromise is right to me.
