Yoko A539s are the worst tyres I have ever owned. Not much grip in the day and nothing in the wet. The toyo proxes are 100x better imo. The grip in the wet was pretty good and I couldnt fault them in the dry.

This thread is rubbish, there is so many mixed opinions, that they all contradict each other and you dont know who to believe. People saying toyos are a budget tyre, but not being able to justify it and they cost pretty much the same as Goodyear GSD3's, also they have a better review then them on tyretest.com. Also I wouldn't trust RSR's or Kwik Fit's opinion on anything as I know that they will employ just about any retard whos willing to apply for a job with them.

TBF the fella at kwik fit has been there for years, is a VW nut and really know what he's talking about, he has a stupid power g60 coraddo. i trust him. He said the conti's were shit, i never listened, they were! He suggested a539's as that what his mate (also works there) uses on his nova and they were the nuts. All my mates use them in 13" form on the mini's / metro turbo's, they all rate them highly.

Nearly everyone i have spoke to say toyo's are cheap budget tyres. But i've neber used them, probably never will so who gives a fuck

do you not mean they are expensive budget tyres? i paid 31 quid a corner for mine, i doubt its much cheaper for a pair of actual budget pick and mix dogshit1000's or whatever. He is wanting to know some tyres that grip, NOBODY can argue that toyo's don't out grip alot of tyres, yeah there are better tyres out there and i personally will try f1's next, i was going to this time but dropped on a deal on toyo's.
Brigestone potentzas are meant to be the bollox but then again they should be for 200 quid a corner (thats what it cost my bro for one for his 350z) Unucky!

That's probably because they're pretty much the only tyre available in 175/50 13, or 195/45 13.

Goodyear, Bridgestone are very good tyres, youll pay more for them though.

Toyos etc are cheap decent tyres.

Yeah well I'm fed up of people saying this.....and I seriously doubt most of the people saying it have even looked up the price of a toyo tyre let alone bought one, because on www.mytyres.co.uk if you are buying 195/45/16's, the toyos are £46.40 a corner and the goodyear gsd3's £51.20 a corner...so presumably the classification of a tyre being "budget" or "cheap" is a difference of £4.80 per tyre??
