Hammerite smooth
Is that a bad thing? On one of the pics I have started painting it before it's totally clean. But i did clean it all up before putting another coat on.

Yep, gives you a bit more room. And I will need bolts when I get my new manifold.

Thought so. On aluminium you need to use Hammerite Special Metals Primer. It tends to peel off after a while if you paint it onto the bare metal... Sorry bout pointing this out just too late, only just noticed this thread

Just got my old boy to get them from work, so just normal ones hex ones I think. Stainless as well.

It'll be reet, it's coming back out again in a year or so for 400bhp+ rebuild. I'll bear that in mind for next time though, cheers
TBH I was looking at the metal primer thing but I thought with it being hammerite it should be OK. Oh well.

Come on then, who can tell me where these hoses go? They are Roose hoses for the Corsa C20LET in the ancillary package from Chris Astley.

i'll have a guess,
turbo to rocker cover
rocker cover to inlet manifold
icv to tophat
turbo to block (oil feed)

Sorry, none of them. I've found where the 3 top ones go. Top right hose is inlet to throttle body, left of that is throttle body to coolant tank and right of that is hard pipe to coolant tank.
But I still don't know where the bottom one goes

One of them could go from the turbo to the coolent bottle.

Nope, I've already put the Turbo coolant pipes on. Really puzzling me now.

It's not on any of the pictures in TV. Anyone even having a guess? It's only the bottom one in the picture left to go

I finally manged to find where that feckin hose goes. It's for the brake servo, which goes down to the inlet manifold. I had to use a part from the C20LET to fit it, but it did fit, eventually.
I'm nearly finished! Over the last couple of days I have been fitting all of my hoses, checking everything is right, re-timing the engine for some reason. And then today I got my new rocker cover, cambelt cover and throttle cable bracket.
Here's a few pics for you anyways.
And after buying some parts on Thursday when I get paid, I can maybe, if I'm lucky, start putting the engine in the Corsa on Friday. I've got my work cut out for PV but it looks like I just might make it by a nats knacker hair

There is one thing that I have noticed that I don't like, the fact the underdrive pulley is so small
It looks like the cambelt cover has not been fitted right.

Finally! Managed to get the engine in the car, sort of
Got paid the other day so went and abused the debit card. Went and bought a new :
Steering rack
radiator
alternator + belt
brake lines
flywheel bolts
track rod ends
bearings
short shift
cossie actuator
slim line fan
First job was to take out all the powersteering shite from my car, so out came pipes bottle and steering rack, and replaced with a simple rack instead. Mainly because it's an extra thing to go wrong that I don't want, and powersteering is for pussy's
Then fitted my new brake lines, I just got lengths of copper already flared with the ends on which I had to bend to shape myself. That was fun but they did get there in the end even if they do look a little out of place.
Also got a little parcel from M-tec, my shift shortener for the F28 Corsa conversion. So much easier using this, you don't have to cut and weld anything and it just goes together easy.
At this point I was supposed to be getting an engine lift from my mate, but the silly c*** decided he had better things to do. But I just had to get on with it, so took the engine down from the stand with a few mates, and fitted my new lightened flywheel, new clutch and shiney gearbox and then carried the engine over to the car. And sod's law, the car wasn't high enough for the engine to slide under. A bit of enginuity was needed . . . .
Found a fairly wide, smooth plank of wood. Spread WD40 all over it, place engine on end of said plank which then goes under engine bay. Get 3 mates, make them lift the front of the car, sit and laugh at them for a bit, then slide the engine under the car. Drop car back down. Genious! And it bloody worked
Today I should hopefully be getting the engine lift. And it will be all plumbed at wired in by the end of the day
