They can be debranded. You need first to change the product code then you can update the firmware and debrand

Robbo you work for Vodafone, debranding is not removing the little stickers on the front or back of the fascia
He means removing the live menu if on vodafone and putting on a generic menu and firmware similar to O2 etc..
Vodafone in particular has a habbit of crippling phones and features and debranding is a sure way to release some of them and change the menu system back to how Nokia intended

Not sure on Nokias, been an SE man for a few years now but the N95 is tempting me to go back. With an SE phone it's easy, go to wotan server and pay about £4 and download/update the generic debranded firmware.
It seems Nokia/Vodafone have got wise and put some restriction onto the phone to prevent this using the phone internal product code. However if you change the product code then this can then be done. I've not read to much into it as I don't have the phone as yet. I'm sure people have done it on the What Mobile forums. Best wait till a few weeks till a few more peeps have done it on various networks and find a cheap site to do it from. Also let some of the noobs take a hit if it doesn't work and there is bugs

already have a blackberry 8700 for work (on t mobile) - hate them
checked the Palm Treo and it was OK, but didnt WOW me like the n95 and zinc did - plus the zinc missed some cool things like decent video capture
50/50 to go for the vario 2 (zinc) or the n95
i know the vario 2 will be the safe bet but i might take a risk with the n95
my mams just got the e65 nokia and it feels not business orientated at all..........hope the n95 is better

M2RTY, I think Robbo is right, sounds like you want a PDA more than a mobile
