Neville has been out this season, as has Rio, as has Vidic, as have Heinze and Evra. Van Der Sar hasnt been in goal in all the cup comps. Etc......

Depends when these votes were cast I guess. Chelsea wobbled in January when Terry and Cech were out.

I have no arguement over this, and Im not trying to say otherwise (or we would be where you are in the league).
BUT you seem to be missing the point, and that is that the back 5 in that team are NOT the best you could of put there. And if you think they are then your obviously looking through equally Utd tinted glasses as you accuse me of for Liverpool.

may have looked at united keeping 2 clean sheets against liverpool this season?
personally i think chelsea play the most boring football in the top half of the premier league, id much rather watch liverpool and arsenal, thats coming from a united fan
i agree that vidic should be there as he has eben brilliant this season and also has evra, until he got injured
cech was out for the first half of the season so giving it to him wasnt going to happen, although he is the best keeper in the premiership
rio is very consistant, as is neville when he is fit, his pace is shocking now though

they must have, because they havent considered the 2 less goals we have conceeded (and with playing an extra game) or the 4 goals less Chelsea have. Or the 20 clean sheets we have kept, the 21 Chelsea have compared to the 14 Utd have.

Last time I checked, conceeding 0 instead of 1 is better, so doubt it does

draw is a draw regardless of how you play. And sometimes a 1-1 draw can be more boring than a 0-0 where you see attack after attack but some good defending (as have most of our 0-0 draws been this season!)

i cant remember if a league finishes level on points, and level on goal difference, if it goes on goals scored or conceded? or even neither and results against the other
i think its goals scored, in which case, a 1-1 draw would be better?

TBH this isnt the point.
The point is that Utds defence is far from the best in the league yet all 5 have been picked over anyone else.

but in that case a 1-1 draw is better yes
uniteds defence may not keep the most clean sheets, and i agree, liverpool do keep alot more, but, if it is the FA then arent they voting on the player as an individual and not the team?

yes, they are looking at the idividual rather than the team....but to pick a whole defence from one team would suggest they have performed individually (and therefore as a whole) better than ANYONE else in any other team...which isnt the case obviously from ALL the stats.
and in which case is a draw better? If it goes down to being equal on points and goal difference so goes down to goals scored? Yes obviously. But TBH the chances of it ever coming down to this are slim!

if you are so concerned about stats then how about this?
united are top of the league so there first 11 must be the best 11 this season, fuck anyone else, surely if united are top(the stats show this) now they must have the best team so why put in gerrard, drogba and berbatov?
at the end of the day united have only conceded a few more goals than chelsea or liverpool, but considering there attcking style of play im not surprised.

if you'd of read it all you'd of seen I have no problem with the majority of the team being Utd players, they DO deserve to be there. But to pick all five defenders (inc keeper) is just plain stupid when ever stat shows they arent the best.....regardless of style of play.
