i would of thought that building a no claims bonus is important, but having more driving experience is much more important.

You could have your 1.2 for 3 years and then decide to move onto the 2.0, thats a massive leap.
Your going to have experience driving a 1.2 and thats it, like i said i wouldn't take such a big leap, jump to a 1.4/1.6 first, then onto a 2.0.

IMO.

nope, because the corsa would be modified and therefore your premium would be higher from the outset

no point getting a 2 litre when only 17 too much young drivers on roads as it is with powerful cars that cant handle the power stick wit your 1.2 for a while then go up to a 1.4, then 1.6 etc
work up through the stages mate, will make you beter in the end.
jut my opinion, not meaning ny offence at all

A majority of new drivers struggle to insure 1.4's and upwards so I doubt you will have any chance at all in insuring a 2 litre.

Just wait untill you have more experience/NCB and then think about getting one

mate why has it got to be a 2 litre? u can pick up 1.4 and 1.6 sport lumps for few hundred pounds these are X14XE and X16XE 16v little beasts... can be tuned nicely and they are reliable....

AND DEFO FAST ENUFF FOR YOU AT 17!!!

get a quote on a 1.4 sport and see wot comes up shud think ure still looking at over a grand maybe £1500-£1700??? unless ure in a gud area...

If you get a 2 litre u will crash and u will die!

lol like off some movie "if u have sex u will die"

seriously though dude save up ure money and sit on either ure 1.2 or 1.4/1.6 corsa for 3 years and u will be more mature and pay less on ure insurance

You will never insure a 2.0 at 17.
If by some way that you do, you will certainley stack the car within the first 2 months of driving it then you fuck up all cances of enjoying it.
My personal opinion is to wait till you are older i was 23 before i got a valver and still it nearly caught me out sometimes. Slowly work your way up.

I had a 1.2 then a 1.6 then a 2.0. Oh and by the way if you do insure it as a 1.2 and then put a 2.0 and keep it as a 1.2 then you area a cock and you deserve to smash it up.
To sum it all up wait till you are old enought to do it all above board.

theres a big difference between being 17 and no ncb, to 18/18 with 1/2years, you get a hefty discount after the first year.

theres been some shite posted in this thread.

unless youve got rich parents willing to pay your not going to be affording the insurance or running costs of a 2l corsa.

my guess is you wouldnt bother telling them anyway

Get a quote on a 1.6 first and see if you can manage that as even that will be pretty high.

I left it until 19 and 2YNC and i pay 1174 on a 2.0 16v.

Get your experience and no claims up and then do it, will cost a lot of money otherwise.

Im 19 with 10 months driving experiance so almost got my 1ync, but i pay £1400 odd on a 1.4 sport.

I dred to think what the cost of insuring a 2.0 at the age of 17 is.
