If they wanted to keep the 4 stands sepertate then fair enough, but why not build them all the same, would look much better.
Like Millwall for example:
Do it like that, but at one end just have 1 big stand instead of 2 tiers, would be different, and wouldn't look like some Alien space craft has just landed in the middle of stanley park

We want one big kop for starters
How will it look like an alien has landed in stanley park...I thought you liked the outside
Still gonna end up bigger than old trafford

to be honest our stadiums rubbish!!
i do like the one stand serperate idea!!!
the bowl idea has been done and personally think wembley for the amount spent is boring as hell!!!! looks like a larger version of the emirates, millenium stadium etc!!!

Why should all the sides be the same?! Anfield now isnt. Most older style grounds arent and that is what we were going for.
The whole idea was to be different, to have the acoustics right for the one single tiered massive Kop, to be recognisable as our stadium and not just a bowl clone.
Personally think its 1000000x better than the old design which was everything this isnt.

If you read my post is say just have one big stand at one end I do like the outside, still looks like an alien ship though
Also, can end up as big as it wants, as i'll never probs get to see my team play there anyways

Bigger than OT, big woop.
Now all you need is a team on the pitch that can compete with them for the League.

Few more pics....
From what is being said the Kop is def staying as a seperate stand, so those gaps will remain open even at the higher 78k capacity. The extra seating will come from another tier or two opposite the Kop (only a tiny stand at the moment) which would provide another 18k seats. I think this will also give the possibility of filling those gaps by the Kop in the future (10-15yr+) to increase the capacity even further.

Yeah, this has been mentioned on a few websites Ive been on. Im not sure if the clear section in the Kops roof has anything to help this or not. Im sure the designers took this into account though as not newbies to stadium design.
It will only mess with TV pics though, so Im not too fussed

Not sure what all thats about, but looks crazier from above than on the ground no doubt If your having grass around it you need plenty of paths, or will just get fucked up once 70K+ people go walking on it come a rainy sat afternoon!!

I'm not so sure the grass round the stadium is a good idea actually now you mention that! Fair enough it looks good but if that was Parkhead it would be tore up after 1 game if not before!

Its in the middle of a listed Park, so not much choice other than to have grass

They'll let you build a stadium on it but they won't let you concrete some turf?

Some will be concreted obviously, but no matter how much we concrete there will still be acres of the green stuff aroud the ground, so would make little difference!

Was reading something by the architect who desinged it the other day, and he said the whole reason for the deaign of the Kop itself and its roof is to aid in the acoustics.
He sat in the Kop for the Barca game at Anfield and then said he knew he had to work on something special to help recreate it in a new stadium.
