My rears were heated up and flared out when i had 17's, Stopped them rubbing unless there were huge potholes. got loads of room now i have gone back to 15's, cost a few hundred quid though.

If you have an angle grinder, tin snips or something to cut metal with, a hammer and a block of wood plus some form of paint/sealant for afterwards its easy to mod the arches yourself.

Ok so definitely on the list is:

-Raised/Different suspension-whether its coilovers or a different damper and spring kit.
-Inner arch removal, and trimming the metal arches back.

But when you remove the front inner arches, I understand you can trim a piece to stop dirt getting in the engine bay, but what about the charcoal canister on the drivers side arch?

Not sure. I didn't bother removing the arch liners, but my wheels are ET45 so thats maybe why I didn't need to.

hmm I dunno, I want to change my suspension anyway, because the ride is too rough, but I was planning on getting bigger wheels to fill the gap when I raised it up.But I love the way it looks with the 17s on and slammed!

I had 17s on mine, dropped 40 with 205/40/17 but mine were ET45, only caught on the back slightly.

How much will the 16s be up for?

Really like those wheels and really like that car. Will be fantastic if you can find a way of fitting them and maintain the driveability of the car

That is awesome! Most original thing iv seen on a corsa in a loooong time!
Find a way to keep them at that height. Maybe go see a bodyshop if they can do anything to the arches?
